I went from a combined

Directv
Spectrum business account for $390 a month

to $130 a month after cutting the cord.

Someone isn't doing it right.

I'm with you, I cut the cord almost 4 years ago. I have young kids now, and with different babysitters and such it is really hard to explain to them how to use the streaming devices. I currently pay $40/month for internet and 45 for psvue.

DirecTV is offering a bundle with uverse that has the same internet speed, whole home DVR with 4 devices, and more channels then I currently have for 85/month plus tax. They told me tax would be around 5 bucks a month.

Trying to think of a reason not to jump on this. I have not had many issues with streaming, but it is definitely hard to explain to my mom and mil when they come over to babysit.

If I didn't have kids I wouldn't even have psvue, but with young ones I need something to turn on at times to entertain them so I can regain my sanity.

My 6 and 4 year old are capable of operating the Roku.
They have Netflix, Plex, and a bunch of channels/apps devoted to stupid toy reviews, minecraft, lego crap, and nerf wars.

Sounds like it was you. I'm paying $125/mo for Dish and internet service.

Yeah, my oldest is 3, and he will probably be able to. But he also goes to bed at some point leaving my mom to look at the 6 button remote like it's some sort of launch controller from the space shuttle.

And if I could get DirecTV with the same internet and more channels for roughly the same price per month, I can't really find a reason to not make that deal. And I've been a cord cutter for a long time, but it made sense when I was paying almost $200 for cable and I could save a ton.

I have the directv/att uverse internet bundle that everyone is referencing and I’m 100% satisfied. The monthly rate is $90 and my total bill is $97 inclusive of all fees. Free equipment, free dvr, 1 yr free Sunday ticket, etc.

Prior to subscribing, I priced out all the streaming services and a la carte internet.... the dtv deal beat them all.

OP sold it to the first super-low bidder. OP has no patience for such things as auctions or cord-cutting.

PSVUE

PSVUE is pretty solid. It buffers every now and then but with the price going up, I'm tempted to try and go back to cable.

Unfortunately, I’d let it collect dust before I sold it for $10.

Watched the LSU game with my retired dad who is a cord cutter with SlingTV.

Most of the 3rd and 4th quarter was either buffered or like watching the game thru an aquarium. Not sure if it was Sling or his internet but it was painful.

Can’t say I blame you for going back.

probably, like most old folks, they dont know what they are doing.

Well this thread has made me completely reconsider chord cutting.

All I want to do is watch ESPN, stream Netflix/HBO, watch the occasional HGTV/Food show (doesn’t have to be live) and catch the local news.

This seems tailor made for streaming but the hassle to do the above plus the likely buffering during live sports has me really second guessing.

I pay $190 for cable/Internet now so the $90 DirectTV offer for cable/internet will still result in a $2,400 in savings over the two years.

I just got off the phone with directv.

I got the entertainment package with uverse internet. It will be $85 per month plus tax. No equipment fees or anything else. 4 TV's with HD DVR. They also offered me a $200 prepaid debit card. They will not be able to install until next week, and my last day for PS VUE is tomorrow, but I will have access to streaming through the DirecTV app.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the package I got. One of the only problems I had with streaming over the past 4 years was the occasional buffering, and the time it takes to switch between games

If uverse internet were worth a damn on my street I'd consider that but it's like 18 Mbps so Cox is the only choice.

Don’t trust that. Mine package for Internet is 25 and I’m in the 32/34 range. Plenty enough for me.
