Pretty much the worst when it comes to actually lasting longer than 1 year.

Their OLEDs are the highest rated consumer level televisions available.

Well that's because no one else makes OLED consumer level TV's.

Samsung is supposed to debut their first in 2016.

My first "large" flat screen tv was an LG plasma. I had it just over a year, and it went out. Took it to a shop, and the motherboard was shot.
While they were fixing it, I called LG support to complain that my TV was 1 month out of warranty. and they agreed to fix it under warranty.
That was 4 years ago, and I now have it hanging on my bedroom wall. Yeah, that was an issue, but aside from that, it's worked fine.

What about Toshiba? just bought one during Black Friday, but I'm aggravated because picture setting is tough to get right and I can't figure out how to connect my surround sound

I've had my 55" LG LED 4k 3DTV for almost a year now (10 months) and have purchased 2 smallers Samsung LED's for bedrooms. The LG Web OS 2.0 runs circles around Samsung and Vizio's "SmartTV" OS. It has a really good picture and has given me no issues what so ever.

My next tv will be a LG at this rate.

Avoid them. My dad and I both had issues with them. Bought both new at an HH Gregg store. For some reason he sprung for the extended warranty on both. Glad he did. My panel started having these red or green vertical lines in them. The first one about 1/3 of the way from the left edge, and later the same on the right. It would start out red, fade to green, and then eventually disappear. His was doing something similar but right in the middle, and it wouldn't fade away. Eventually, mine quit fading away and looked to be getting wider. I had the panel replaced by the warranty. It happened again on the replacement panel within 6 months, and I called and demanded a new one, and did not want a Toshiba. Ended up with a nice Samsung that is still going strong 6 years later.

Damn now I'm worried this may happen to mine. It's brand new (bought on Black Friday) so I guess that something to be wary about
