Yeah, I think they could have just rolled the snooze feature and the message content preview/action stuff into gmail.

But maybe they figured that with the Material Design overhaul, it might be better to just do a total rebrand. I always thought "gmail" was kind of corny, anyway.

Yeah it's not really working for me, either, but snoozed stuff does give me a notification.

edit: I just got a new email notification from Inbox, but it took a few minutes longer than gmail. Next time gmail notifies you, just give it a few minutes to see if Inbox notifies you, too.

Got my invite last night and started using it. I guess I don't send and receive enough personal e-mails to see the point of this, but progress is progress.

I am finding it to be more useful for work stuff. I was out and about when I got a work email, so I location-snoozed it for work and got the notification for it when I parked at work. I think it will be pretty handy for me.

i played with it for a while this morning doing that. i never received notifications on any of my test emails. but it was notifying last night. probably a bug that will get fixed

Just got another, and both apps notified me back to back within a couple seconds this time. Might just be a server load issue.

I'm using Inbox on the desktop, too. I'm kind of liking it, but it is missing a lot of gmail features and settings.

I can create new labels, but I can't nest them under other labels.

I can't edit my signatures.

I can't manage my POP accounts, and I can't force a fetch of new mail.

I can set basic filtering rules for labeling purposes, but a lot of the more complex gmail features (forwarding of specific messages, has attachment rules, etc.) are missing.

No pagination, just infinite scrolling.

For those not receiving notifications, make sure that the label that the e-mail falls in is set to notify.

gmail is the same as its always been. this is different process, if you dont like it - dont use it

although im sure apple will come out with something similar two years from now and you will be one of the first to laud the "innovation"

I got an invite, and installed the app, but I can't use it with my Google Apps account...apparently it's only for @gmail.com addresses for now.
