My Samsonite zipper ripped after only a year. Looking for a good backpack that also looks nice and not like a college kid.

There's nothing wrong with hiring a college kid to carry your stuff for you. Makes you look like a boss.

I carry a Swiss Gear and I travel a lot. Holds up to the beating and still looks pretty good.

I have had a Swiss Gear going on 10 years. No problems with zippers.

Best Laptop Backpack I've ever owned:

Has a suspension system for your laptop so even if you drop it when you set it down the laptop never makes contact with the floor.

Depending on how much protection you actually need for you laptop or other electronic devices I would recommend this one. I just picked it up about a month ago and have absolutely no complaints about it.

If you're carrying a backpack at all, you're gonna look somewhat like a college kid. Which is better than looking like a dorky bizness man with a Samsonite.

I use this as a carry on sometimes

This is also good looking

Like all Pelican stuff, I'm sure it's great at what it does, but it just looks about 20% "over done." Unless you're packing it with gold bars, a 25L backpack doesn't need a handle that over-engineered.

no arguments with any mentioned here but if you're looking more affordable, OGIO is pretty popular.

as a traveler i see more of them than anything else out there.

Tumi alpha 2 backpack if you don't mind spending a little $$. Looks as professional as a backpack can, which isn't very imo.

I'd go with a briefcase

You must not fly

I've wanted to make the switch to a backpack for awhile now, i just haven't found one that looks professional enough with a suit...which i always wear to meetings

What about something like this?

Amazon

I don't think business professional and backpack mix but it just depends on what you do for a living,

I have this. You can tuck the straps in and carry it like a briefcase if you don't want the full backpack look.
