Worth the upgrade? Battery life on my S4 has gone to crap with all the recent updates (including a new battery). Other than that, it's pretty solid and does what I need. It's always fun to get a new toy though..

ALso looked at the G4's but every review I've read ranks the Samsung higher than the LG.

Possibly beating a dead horse, my apologies if so.

The S4 was a pretty dull phone to me, so I'd imagine it's a significant jump.

I didn't go direct from the S4 to the Note 4, but it was a big jump.

I was the same as you, at first. I don't trust the reviews as much, though. Seems like the details in the reviews would have the G4 and S6 neck and neck on everything, but would usually tip the S6 way regardless of what the tally said. That tells me that they're biased (i.e., the G4 may win the majority of the head-to-head factors, but they'd just gloss over and say "it's a toss up and I think the S6 is better!")

Also spent a lot of time on forums and looking for real user feedback to break the tie.

I went with the LG G4. Loved my Galaxy S4, but I've been pretty impressed with the quality of the G4 so far. The only thing that took some getting used to was the screen size, but they're really pretty comparable. The removable storage was a big selling point for me, too.

Check out the comments for both phones on this forum. It's pretty even on the bias-factor: https://forum.xda-developers.com/

I'm sure you'd be happy with either one. The camera on my G4 is though!

Galaxy S6 Active is the best phone out right now and it is not close. Fastest Processor on the market. Best battery life of any smartphone on the market. The camera is sick and one of the best on any smart phone ever.

I just made the upgrade...wish T-mobile had the active. I love the s-6 and I'm not a big tech guy. More user friendly overall.

Still have the S4 which I like, its the Lollipop upgrade I hate.

But due for an upgrade and didn't the S6 ditch the expandable memory while the G4 added that feature ?
I haven't really looked at either phone much yet, but that sure seems to push me toward the G4

Would love to get the Active but I get a pretty solid discount at Verizon through my company.

The active is waterproof and shockproof and has a bigger battery. I have it and love it so far.
It does not have removable storage and you can't switch out the batter like previous models though.
