Yes, you can fly your own drone as a hobbyist.

Register yourself as a hobbyist and get your company to pay for the part 107 test

You are gonna fly against the FAA at some point, so it probably doesn't matter.

How much is it looking like right now? Granted the last hour is normally where a spike happens.

Any of you add an antenna mod to your controller? I've seen some that give you up to 6 miles of range.

Both mine are the fly more bundles. Somewhat hard to see what they end up going for at the end of auctions.

Also how do you judge what shipping will cost?

Would these help with short range disconnects and interference? I assume so?

I watched a video of a guy fly out about 3 miles and barely made it back with about 18% battery. Seems that wind is a wildcard when going so far.

in my experience people are more willing to buy something with free shipping for more than an item with a price withe shipping included. so i just put free shipping and expect to lose that much on the winnings.

you can view completeed listings and see what flymore bundles have been going for. some went for 1450, 1525, 1600 yesterday.

No and I really don't see the need for it. You aren't suppose to be out of LoS. I do it a lot, but even flying a mile out gets me paranoid. Out to 6 seems nightmarish.

yea. these long range transmitters were made for FPV planes what could easily fly for miles and make a round trip. were quads just arent made for long distance travel.

Probably unlikely, but I figured I'd ask in here.

Do any of you have a license as a remote pilot?
I'm taking the test soon and curious of what type of questions and the level of difficulty it is. More definition based questions or application? Etc.

DJI has released an official document on the color shading noticed by multiple users.

Dropbox Link to Full DJI Response Doc

quote:

Some obvious color shading also occurs with the Mavic Pro ’ s compact lens in certain conditions . The Mavic Pro ’ s camera has been optimized for shooting in daylight. A solution to color shading in snowfields and LED lights , etc. is still under testing and color shading has not be en totally removed just yet. Customers also reported that color shading is more obvious in DNG image s than in JPEG images. We are working on fixing this. Thank you for your feedback and support , everyone!

Good to know there may be a solution/workaround coming. I'm going to wait until it shows up. I have a feeling that there will be some interesting changes when the Karma relaunches, especially if GoPro has figured out how to utilize GPS (Followme, etc). If they pull that off at $799 with an upgradeable camera platform then I'm hoping DJI will respond in kind.

Crashed into the side of my house with mine today. Broke and Knocked one propeller completely off. 2 other propellers chipped up. Scratched the battery and a little of the frame.

Put 2 new propellers on and it acted normal. Camera works and everything looks good. I've ordered an entire new set of propellers so I can get 4 new ones on it. Due to the blemishes on the two i couldn't swap out, it seems to have a little drift while hovering just off the ground.

In sport mode you need a lot of room to stop forward momentum. I also think I panicked a bit once things started going bad.

One thing I noticed as it was scrapping down the house, you can't stop the propellers if it's not on the ground. Motors were spinning until it hit the ground.
