DirectTV is giving big discounts to keep up with the cord cutters.

I moved to a new home in Feb and have been using PSVUE. I have the basic account for $32 but it's going up to $42.
I was going to upgrade in August to get sport channels needed for LSU, SECsports and NFL.
That would turn it into $48.

$65/month for DirectTV Choice and sports with NFL Ticket.

Saving $17 a month wasn't enough anymore.

We just got Directv back last weekend. For 1 Gig internet through AT&T Uverse and Directv with HBO for life, plus the sunday ticket all bundled its 115$ a month. It was a no-brainer. We were paying 80 a month for just suddenlink's cable internet (150 MBps), having to go through all the firestick trouble wasn't worth it anymore.

You forgot the blank screen every time it gets cloudy and rains. BUT! The sales guy will tell you they don't have that problem anymore. Bull f'ing shite!

I almost went with DirecTV a few weeks ago but decided against it just cause it's New Orleans and 4 outta the 12 months a year it rains damn near daily here.

I'm switching to DTV Now. I already have AT&T unlimited plus, so my DTV Now gets a $25 credit and HBO for free.. sold. I get basically all of the same channels as my PS Vue for $20/mo cheaper.

I signed up for their bundle back in February and it was a no brainer. I've been very happy with the tv and uverse internet service. Of course, I live in mild weathered Los Angeles, so I don't worry much about interference.

I was in a well known, very popular sports bar recently when it got cloudy outside. No rain yet and every single TV went black and then the DTV screen saver came on. I was there for about 90 minutes and it never came back on. How can a sports bar justify using a service like that when it is so unreliable. What kind of craziness would happen if and when it goes out during the LSU/AL game? Or the superbowl?

and what does it go up too after the initial rate is done.

You could have just got Gig internet and streamed bc it has no data cap.

a bit much esp if it has a data cap

Locked in for 2 years. 1 Gig with AT&T was going to be 80$ a month. Suddenlink had it for 100$ a month. No data caps on either.

Everything was fine until Exodus went down. Then things got a little rough. I still use Elysium now, but its nice having a guide and being able to watch live tv especially sports with no buffers or lag time and the new GOT season with no wait. Watching the LSU games this past season was awful bc the ESPN stream I was watching was 3 minutes behind the actual game. I enjoyed cutting the cord, but it has its limitations.

When I had DTV in NO it would go down a handful of times a year when the rain would really poor down.

Most of the time it wasn't a big deal and didn't interfere with live events so I could use the DVR to watch something else.

Antenna can get the locals. You are only truly SOL if your team is on ESPN when it goes south.

Currently on PSVUE. Maybe I'll sign up again for airline miles some day. I think I used the 30,000 miles to help get me to Thailand.

I've played the DirectTV games since 99'
My 2 year contract won't go up and if it does I'll cancel and use my name not my wife's to get a great new deal again.

2 year deal that goes up to $115/month in months 13-24. Also, sucks that one of the few channels Choice doesn't have is Golf

No DVR function is a deal breaker for me. PS Vue has that

DIRECTV can suck a fat one. I called them when I moved since the internet in my town sucks I can't rely on streaming. I ask them if my price will be the same for two years? They tell me yes. Well guess what after a year it goes up by $40. I called and bitched but they said if you read the contract that is what is supposed to happen. Does anyone really read a contract that is 400 pages long?

Never take what a salesperson says over the phone as fact.
