Not exactly audiophile sound bars but a true audiophile would never own a sound bar.

It isn't about audiophile. It's about accurate sound and there are much more accurate speakers. They also cost a good bit more.

For example, Triad Speakers, a US company offers the Nano 3.0 among its sound bar line. List price is $1200 and it features Scan Speak drivers. You can order it custom made to exactly match the width of your TV and it is available in several wood finishes and colors.

Believe it or not there is a whole world of great speakers out there that the Tech Board knows nothing about.

nor would i ever have the need to know.

If i was rich enough i would just have someone wire my home with the best shite made.
I'd also have them redo the stereo system in my Bugatti Veyron while they're at it.

But alas! I don't have a Bugatti,i have a Toyota Tacoma so my stereo system in my home is sensible as well.

i have hte exact same setup. it is fricking sick for the money. best value; not even close. watching sports and blasting music sound amazing
For someone that needs better sound, deep bass and bluetooth this is the setup.
I have mine hooked up to my Panasonic GT50 plasma via optical cable.
These tv's nowadays just have complete shite for speakers built in.
I was looking at the Sonos play bar with sub for around $1000 for both

The Pioneer Andrew Jones soundbar with sub for $400

and the Sony HTCT260 for $300

Got the same one from Costco a month or so back when I was looking for a sound bar. I absolutely love this setup! If I had to nitpick, I wish the controller's menu selection thing would be lit by LED or something.

Overall, this system fills up your living room!

yeah, that is nitpicking but the remote controls are fantastic. Did you see where you can program your tv or cable or satellite remote to control the sound bars volume and mute functions?

It can be measured and until the point of diminishing returns better parts and engineering equals better sound.

I'm not shitting on what Meaux got. For his purposes I am sure what he purchased is more than adequate and pleases him.

I have their towers and center and I absolutely love that line. Andrew Jones designs TAD which is Pioneers top line that run around 20-40k.

they have good reviews for sure. The all wood design is great.
I really don't have anything bad to say about them. I just chose the Vizio setup because of the 5.1 and Bluetooth.

I guess what I'm getting at is what applications would I need high end speakers for?

Music, redbook quality (and above) digital and phono, playback and dedicated theater setups.

Critical listening and dedicated home theaters with proper acoustics. In a family room or open environment it doesn't matter nearly as much.

Atlantic Satellite Speaker Stands

Ordered a pair of these when I got my Vizio bar. Stands are adjustable, wire can be run through them leaving a clean look, etc... These were well worth the money!
