Better TV to buy, Vizio, Sony, or LG?

I am looking for a 70" TV. That is the biggest TV that will fit in my entertainment center (width is 65-3/4"). The 75" Tvs are just slightly too big (Sony is 66"). Of course no one seems to make a 70" any more. They almost all jump from 65 to 75.

So I am considering buying a used 2014 model 70" Sony.

or a new Vizio.

BestBuy guys were not too high on the Vizeo. They said they do not last.

What does the Tech board think?

I have a 60 inch Vizio that has worked great, and I have had it about 3 years now.

lots of vizio hate on this board. i love my vizio fwiw. we have a couple old small ones that work fine. i imagine that best buy discourages people buying them because they make more money on samsung and sony. most unbiased review sites online give vizios high marks.

My family has purchased 11 Vizios, 8 over three yrs old. 1 under one yr old. 1 over six years old. 1 over ten years old.

ZERO problems. All still used daily.

My vizio kicks arse.. sorry you got a shite deal, but it happens. I could understand a sour taste after spending that kind of cash on a TV and it doesn't work

I love my 55" LG I got in 2013. It is not a smart TV, but I keep appleTV or Chromecast hooked up to it

The picture is amazing and one of my friends actually complimented it when he dropped by Saturday.

I have the Vizio you linked (M70-C3) and love it, no complaints

ETA: bang for your buck there's not a comparison. If budget doesn't matter as much go Sony or Sammy

Never had a problem with Vizio reliability. I have one in guest room and one outside. Have recommended to family members for years as best bang for buck without any problems.

I've had two LGs just stop turning on. One was fixed in warranty, then stopped again more than 1 year from purchase, but less than 1 year from authorized repair. They refused to do anything. Never again. Buy Panasonic.

I've got a 65 inch Sony that has a fantastic picture. CNET had it as the best non-plasma picture on any tv the year it was released. I'd go Sony over the other two (especially Vizio) all day.

TVs are disposable. I really don't pay much attention to longevity these days.

If it is your primary TV I get that you want to make a good choice, but I certainly wouldn't buy a 2 year old used one over a new Vizio.
