Monoprice.com cases are very inexpensive there.

These are good, but my favorite is Magpul. American made and inexpensive. Not to mention well designed too.

I like the Apple made leather ones. Good protection. Good feel. Not bulky.

6+ here.
Ballistic Tungsten. Pair it with a nice screen protector and you are done. It isn't waterproof, but I don't get my phone wet.
I had a life proof case and it sucked. It uses vibrations through the case to transmit sounds and everything is muffled.

I've used an otterbox commuter on every iPhone I've had from the 3GS to the 5c. Picking up a 6 today and I'll put one on it as well. It is slimmer than the other otterbox versions and only has rubber at the top 1/3 and a little at the bottom. The rest is slick plastic. Maybe a slight texture but nothing rough. Slips in and out of my pockets without catching. I had a silicone case on my first one and it would catch on things so I know what you mean about no rubber.

Love Spigen and Otterbox cases. Usually keep an otterbox on my phone but my new S6 edge plus (I know, not iphone) wont connect to the wireless charger with it so I bought a cheap Spigen for it.

The best case is no case.

I don't know how y'all do it. I drop my phone all the time. A case and tempered glass are essential for me.

People actually pay that much for a phone case?

I guess you didn't look at their super hipster glasses they sell.

Not going to lie, $500 rhodium plated aluminum glasses would be pretty fun to wear a couple of days a year. You'd pretty much have to rent a limo and go somewhere that you were sure no one you knew would see you, but still It'd be liberating.
ETA: just kidding. I couldn't pull that shite off.
