I don't need a closed box. But I'm running a wireless sub/soundbar combo, Contour Box from Cox, an Apple TV & my Plasma Smart TV (LG) on my Harmony by Logitech.

It's amazing. The only drawback is I lost some of the quickness on the keyboard for the LG Smart TV. The remote for the TV was a "Magic Remote" that was Wii-like. So now I have to use a rocker pad on the keyboard for both the Apple TV and LG. It requires individual presses to move the mouse but otherwise it's a huge improvement in terms of unifying all of my peripherals.

I bought a harmony 900 on ebay or amazon refurb/used. It has been the best remote, no problems with lagging or wrong commands.

Looks like there are used ones starting at $65

harmony 900

I had one for years and was a great remote.

I traded it in last year on a Harmony Ultimate Home. Cant go wrong with either model.

I've had this for about three years. You just replace the battery in whatever remote you want to use and it can send an RF signal. It's been great.

I bought the 900 off eBay for cheap and you can't go wrong with it for closed cabinet use. Love this thing

I think the 900 has the best ergonomics of any of the harmony remotes. I did extensive research when trying to pick mine out, and really liked it better than the newer ones.

Mainly, the difference was the positioning of the Play/FF/RW Stop buttons. The Harmony Ultimate required repositioning of your hand (or using two hands) while the 900 did not.

I have the 650 and installed an adapter kit with mini blasters. No issues at all so far. Going on about 6 months.

Those remotes eat batteries pretty quickly so a rechargeable battery station and some rechargeable batteries are definitely recommended. Will make your life easier.
