Issues? First thing that comes to mind was it will slow my wireless network down and possibly make the picture quality suffer. Could be way off with that assessment.

Is there any reason to get this feature if I have a cable jack exactly where I want the TV. It just seems like it's adding a bunch of potential issues.

Anybody have experience? good or bad?

I put one in my bedroom, zero issues. But my bedroom isn't very far from my main set up.

The wireless already sucks, but for some reason their little all-in-one modem/router does fine sending television signals to the wireless boxes.

I got an older TV from my dad where the stand had broken. We got a wall mount, and installed it one weekend. I spent a couple hours the next day running cable from the basement, up through a first floor closet, into the attic, and cutting away the drywall and installing a cable outlet right where I wanted it. Ordered specifically a wired box from the ATT site, and it was scheduled to be installed a few days later.

I'm at work, and the guy comes out to install it and all he had on the truck were wireless boxes. I get that they are probably easier to set up for the techs. But I wanted a wired connection. My wife called me and asked me about it since she knew I had set everything up. I told her to tell him that if it didn't work correctly he would be coming back out with the wired box I ordered.

We didn't use it all that much. My daughter watched cartoons on it. Every now and then, after a power outage or something else, it would need to be reset. All I had to do was go press a button on the router and press a button on the receiver. It paired up in minutes and was working again.

TL:DR version, it won't affect your wifi (which sucks anyways), pic quality is fine, but I would still insist on a wired box if you have a cable outlet.

It uses it's own gateway, so no affect on wifi.

They were super handy and the main thing I miss from cuting off U-Verse. They have thier own box so it doesnt interfere with your modem

LOL I returned 3 or 4 within 6 months. The equipment is absolute shite.

Seems like some conflicting opinions. I was leaning towards a wired box originally, because I just built the house and have put cable jacks exactly where I want them anyway, so I just don't see the point, unless there is some other advantage to them?

Interesting. I have 4 wired and one wireless in my house. Do not have any problems watching on-demand or HD from any of them. Only issue is that I can't have all watching different channels at the same time. That may be a limitation of my Uverse plan as opposed to tech limitations.

No issues here. Not a single day of dissatisfaction as an early adopter in BR.
