Officially requesting to change this Boards name from Tech to Android/Windows. I know LA isn't the richest state, but the "I can't afford it so I hate it" user base is beginning to ruin the supposed non-bias this board is supposed to support.

Your sentiment is just as bad as theirs.

Eh, the first few weeks I was neutral on here, at this point this is just an OT/Gaming Board Jr, so might as well join in.

I don't know what "parallels" means in the context you're using it.

We use dropbox and email to move documents within the office and some IT guy came and hooked my Mac up to the printer/scanner.

Ah, gotcha. No. Just using the regular Mac OS.

ETA: What would be the purpose of doing something like that? Can you switch back and worth between Windows and Mac OS?

The Poliboard has Politards, now we have a new board and a new breed: Techtards.

They obnoxiously insult and belittle anyone who chooses to use something different than what they use.

Yes..We have a user that prefers his MAC, but in order to run some of our in-house programs, he has to use Windows..It seems to be more like a VM than anything

So you let your users dictate to you what they are going to use ?

I have had a couple of users try to pull that. "Well I prefer to us my Mac"

I don't care what you prefer to use. Everything we run around here runs on Windows, so you can leave your personal machine at home and use the machine we bought for you just like everyone else.

A client bought it for use on their project. I don't care for Mac,and we don't support it, but this client likes to see their programs run on their equipment.

Well you're normally a first page Apple basher, never late to the party.

I was worried that the big bad Apple monster finally got to you.

I think it's gotten a little out of hand, too. God knows I'm an advocate for the "build your own PC" campaign because of its immense advantages, but even I realize that it's not the ideal solution for regular Joe User who e-mails, surfs the web, watches videos, and uses Office programs. PC building is one of those things that's only child's-play easy once you've done it. To learn in the first place, there's a psychological hurdle to jump and a fair investment of time involved that a lot of people aren't interested in taking on, and that's fine.

But "having different preferences" is not the same as thinking something is better than something else for inaccurate reasons. I see this often from posters who use Macs. Maybe it's a defense mechanism against those who belittle them, just to rile up the PC elitists, or perhaps they genuinely believe the things they're told, but it doesn't make it any less incorrect. There are legitimate reasons to prefer the closed Apple ecosystem over every other open-ended platform, but higher raw performance/dollar, increased hardware longevity, and virus immunity are not among them.

My sincerest apologies. I didn't realize you were only a partial Apple troll. Keep up the good work.
