Yup. Do you have one you'd recommend?

I fully expect them to do some shady shite like allow iPad Pro's to use them as full external displays, which will increase demand.

I'd like a new monitor but not for 1600$. I know monitors can get expensive but I feel like that monitor should be about half the price for what it offers.

Apple always tries this bullshite. Release average hardware that looks amazing on the outside, meh on the inside, charge ridiculous amounts of money, then act all shocked and surprised when they don't sell.

Not that they need it, because of the iPhone, but still.

Ya'll probably have real use cases and may be able to show me I'm wrong, as an Apple loyalist more or less, external monitors have always seemed a hindrance. I have multiple machines (Macs) and none of them are seamless when it comes to external monitors.

Apple is hit or miss. I own several Apple devices. Airpod Pros, Homepods, Apple TV, Apple Watch, I use these almost everyday.

But some shite they do is truly baffling. Like this $1600 monitor. You can get a high end gaming PC WITH a high end monitor for that price. I don't get it.

How long does the battery last on the Airpod Pros?

You mean releasing the monitor with the highest-powered CPU in existence?

-Apple’s Marketing Team, probably

Meanwhile, the rest of the world:

But I thought you said you had the best new computer CPU? It needs to have a supplemental cell phone CPU to still suck ?

I get over 4 hours of music listening. And as far as talking goes, longest I've had was a 2 hour call.

What I like about them is the versatility. I can do outside work and around the house while talking on the phone or listening to music.

No you can't. You can barely get a 3080 TI alone for that amount. Just the graphics card. You said HIGH END.

Not an Apple fanboy. Just pointing out that with shortages and bots buying everthing, you can not get a high end Monitor and PC for $1600.

Gaming PC and Monitor for $1600. Sure but the specs won't be remotely high end.

I don't consider the 70 to be high end first off. Second, a quick search of amazon and new egg show all 70s at almost 1k or more. Not saying a deal can't be found but making the claim the 70 is sub $700 is full on bullshite for most locations the average person uses. I stick with $1600 isn't getting a high end machine. We just have a different idea of what constitutes high end.

I’m a hardware snob, so while I understand the sentiment of anything short of a halo product being less than high end, that’s just not reflective of reality. A 3070 non ti is the equivalent of a 2080ti. It can push 1440p high settings, DLSS Quality, with RTX at 60fps+ in pretty much any game you throw at it. Saying that isn’t “high end” strains credulity a bit. And I say that as someone with a 3080.

But I’m sure someone out there would say my 5800x 3080fe system isn’t high end because it’s not a 12900k 3090

IMO it's debatable if hitting that performance target is really worthy of the "high end" label. But speaking to the posts before that, none of the individual components on that list screams "high end" part to me, especially the no-name RAM, budget SSD, and the no-name monitor when the bar was specifically set to "high end gaming PC" with "high end monitor". So do they really equal a high end gaming PC? And it would still exceed $1600 anyway.

The name doesn't make something "high end" specs are specs no matter who it comes from.

Literally the opposite is true of the phrase "high end"

American Heritage:
quote:

high-end (hi'end') adj. Informal
1. Appealing to sophisticated and discerning customers: a high-end department store; high-end video equipment.
2. Sophisticated and discerning: high-end patrons.
Cambridge:
quote:

- intended for people who want very good quality products and who do not mind how much they cost
- wanting very good quality products, and willing to pay a lot of money for them
- of very good quality and usually expensive:
- - high end cars/clothing/computers/fashion The company's high-end fashion features items like $500 shirts
- - high-end products/merchandise/brands
- - high-end apartments/homes/hotels
Merriam-Webster Thesaurus
quote:

Synonyms for high-end

big-ticket, costly, dear, expensive, extravagant, high, high-ticket, precious, premium, priceless, pricey (also pricy), spendy [chiefly Northwest], ultraexpensive, valuable
Words Related to high-end
exorbitant, overpriced, prohibitive, sky-high, steep, stiff, unaffordable, uneconomic (or uneconomical), unreasonable

I don't think any of those definitions apply to that Nixeus monitor with AHVA panel or B660 chipset motherboards or WD Green SSDs even if it's 4K VRR or super high geebeez.

A Lexus is more high end than a Toyota even if they have the same engine and specs under the hood because the Lexus is a more upscale brand with extra quality and features.

I would expect a high-end gaming computer to feature Samsung or WD Black drives with an LG monitor or something. Not just for the name brand but also because those brands are proven to be outstanding in their class even when technical specs are even.

Anyway. Just my opinion. We're getting into semantics now I guess.

I think we're getting into fine language distinctions. For example, I would absolutely say that a system with a Zotac 3080 is a "high end system". I would even say the Zotac 3080 is a "high end graphics card". I would not say that a Zotac 3080 is a "high end 3080".
