FYI: Amazon Dot is now available for $50. This is their 2nd generation unit that launched on Oct 20th.
Pretty nice price, and also offer a special of buy 5, get 1 free.
Thinking about ordering the special deal, and giving them out as Christmas presents.

I got one when they first came out. I put it by my bed and use it to control the lights, news and score updates, and my alarm in the mornings. Only bad thing is you have to yell at it to tell it to snooze.

Can you sync an Echo and a Dot to play music and/or hear timers/alerts through both speakers?

how are the speakers on the first generation? thinking about getting one for the kitchen but don't want to have to hook up speakers to it.

Looks like they also have bundles with TP Link outlets, Phillips Hue Starter kit, and Ecobee thermostat.

As of now, they don't appear to have any integration but it appears that there are plans for it.

Went looking for smart home bundles but didn't see any results on Amazon with the Dot. Then I searched Google for references and there are several articles mentioning it within the past 24 hours. Every link in each article leads to a page not found by Amazon.
Not sure what the deal is.
ETA: Amazon released a statement that they're removing all bundles from their site except for the 5 Pack and 10 Pack Dot Bundles. Just hours after they released the Dot...strange.
