The fan check-in/tally threads and the Euro buildup got me thinking...

Outside of the USMNT/USWNT, what is your favorite national team? I know some people on here root by heritage or are straight up from other countries.

For me, I've always cheered for the Netherlands in major tournaments over the years because of players such as RvP, Sneijder, Robben, etc. Plus the orange kits are always sweet.

Of course, they're not in Euro this year, so I'm gonna have to adopt another team.

What about y'all?

I've always rooted for Italy mostly because I loved watching Pirlo play and I've also got some Italian heritage too

I love watching Chile play. African teams are fun to watch too.

I just have never actively cheered for another country's national team. I'll typically sort of pull for someone in a tournament when USMNT isn't playing, though. I'll generally root for an underdog or a team with a manager/players I really like.

ETA: I just have no emotional attachment to them, though. I'm never upset or angry when one of these teams loses.

Poland, I have some Polish friends and they are a blast to watch their national teams with. Was over there on vacation in 2012 before they hosted Euro and found the people to be fantastic, even if their men have some weird complex of wearing variations of jorts.

England: was there for 2002 World Cup when they beat Argentina. Pretty much cemented my love for soccer. Seeing the passion of the fans, people climbing the statues in trafalgar square, sitting outside pubs at 9am for a 3pm game, etc. Have British citizenship as well, but thats not really part of the reasoning.

Israel: gotta pull for the tribe.
