Btw, I just checked the Italian national team and there are literally 11 guys with meaningful caps. Wow.

They're an experienced 11. A lot of the guys from the 2006 squad.

I think the wops dug their own grave with that squad. Experience is nice, but you need some youth too.

I can't say I disagree. I thought they were too old at Euro 2008.

Agree 100%. It was clear at the Euro's and the only thing that's changed is those guys are two years older.

Yep and with literally no one on the team with other experience besides Di Natale. It's like a football team starting 20 seniors.

The 2014 squard will have at most Buffon, Chiellini, De Rossi, and Gilardino with experience. And other than Rossi and Balotelli (who aren't really Italian), who are the upcoming stars?

The best player who's team didn't make it is arshavin from Russia. Or maybe zlatan imbrahimovic frm Sweden.

Then I guess you could argue with benzema, ronaldinho, zanetti, cambiasso, pato. Couple o Italians that didn't make it like Totti. But if they were that good then why didn't they make it?

FRANCESCO TOTTI

Probably not the best but thats my boy.
The guy is still one of the better shotmakers in the world. Lippi doesnt want that though, he wants boring arse play for 90min; exciting players are forbidden.

Ettore Mendicino- Lazio, but on loan in Serie B to get experience

Sebastian Giovinco- Juventus
-undoubtedly a lock for 2014

Davide Santon (defender)- Inter
--BEAST

Lorenzo De Silvestri-future shut down back for 2014

--theres also a young keeper, but he obviously wont see much of the field with GiGi healthy

it's sad ryan giggs will never see the world cup in his stellar man u career... kinda like how it'd feel if canada had the guy that could singlehandedly win the cup for the U.S.

Looks like we can add Drogba and Rio Ferdinand to this list.

I'd be surprised if he did not play a role in this World Cup.
