I mean, death is strong, but it could cost you crucial points. Friendlies, yeah, run him out. Anything else, I'm quite hesitant. There needs to be almost nothing on the line, unless he's shown at the club level he can handle it. I'm not familiar enough with Fulham's play of late to know if that's the case.

I think the key is how big the perceived gap is between Hyndman and (for example) Mix at current form. If the gap is small, them trot him out there. If the gap is large, then only play Hyndman in a friendly.

Hell... there were games in the U-20 WC where he and Zelalem were getting muscled off the ball.

If that is happening then it means the player has to adjust his play so that he isn't being put in positions where physicality is the #1 variable influencing the outcome of the play.

Whether their technical skills are there yet, I will leave to the coaches to sort out.

CH shouldn't play in anything but a friendly for the next 2 years or so.

I don't think that's what you would want a teenager doing.

Playing both Zalalem and Hyndman at the same time would be a mistake for the first team. However, pair one of them up with Bradley and I am confident the captain can provide support and guidance on field.

We have a void in the midfield right now and it won't be filled by teenagers.

Someone like Danny Williams seems like more of an answer right now if JK is not going to let Bradley play 6.

Truthfully, we are a mess right now with no clear answers. Our seemingly best options either seem too old (Donovan, J Jones, Beckerman) or too young like Hyndman and Zelalem. Same as this time last year, we have a dearth of solid 25-29 year olds.

We are not solid anywhere, at least partially because JK tries too many different lineups and because sp few players are making a clear case that they should be given a spot for good.

I don't think he has the physical fitness yet to step in at left mid

Williams started for Reading today, btw. Novakovich was on the bench.

I was talking to someone about this today. We're in between great generations right now. We have a few guys that are in their prime, but we have a lot of great players that are just a few years away.

We would have had Holden and Davies if not for... well, you know.

Cameron and Bedoya are both in that "prime" range, and Fabs is close too (he's in the age range you provided). So is Gonzo. Lichaj is 26 but obviously he fricked Jurgen's wife or something. Ream is also in that age range.

I would say Cameron, Fab, and Guzan are definitely in their prime and are good players. I can't list Gonzo with them just because I don't think he's that good.

In 2011 if you would've said that Brad Davis and Chris Wondolowski would play in a World Cup, you would've been laughed at.

Well yeah and if you said that in 2014, you would have been laughed at AND given another 4 years as manager

Cameron needs to lock up the CDM position in our diamond. Beckerman doesn't need to see the field again.

Fab needs to play LB and Yedlin needs to play RB. Guzan has goalie locked up unless Howard comes back.

I like the way that Aron and Dempsey play off one another.

The two "someone elses" has to come from a pool of Mix, Bedoya, Hyndman, Williams, Zalalem, Zusi, Beckerman, Morales, Corona, Evans...am I missing anyone?

Mix and Bedoya are probably my two preferred out of that list.

I think it's between Cameron and Williams at this point.

Cameron is someone we really missed in the GC. His versatility is outstanding.

Put Geoff at RB and move Yedlin to RM. Or, Geoff at LB and Fabian at LM. Or, decide your CBs suck and you need him there. Either way, he upgrades a position and gives the lineup flexibility.

Just hopeful thinking...but if Hyndman develops physically enough to step into the 10 role, I'd be elated. I think we can pencil in Bradley as captain in for 2018. At 29/30, moving him back to the 6 role he should be in now would be awesome. Maybe Zelalem makes a burst forward in his development.

So far as Jurgen is around, there are 3 or 4 guys you can say (barring injury) will be on the plane to Russia. Bradley, Guzan (starter or backup), Brooks, and strong possibilities Fabian, Yedlin, and Bedoya.
