Williams, who hasn't played since March 30, has recovered from injuries and has been training for two weeks, according to Klinsmann.

This is what pisses me off the most. You leave LD off the roster due to he hasn't played and form. Danny Williams hasn't played since March. Gets a call up AND everyone says that the Germans stick to themselves and don't talk to other players as much.

I love having Fab Johnson, I really hope we see him on the left wing soon, even though I think he's too valuable as a left back to move to LW permanently

If we could call in Lichaj this would be less of an issue. Beasley looked good at LB in the last set of qualifiers so I wouldn't mind seeing that tandem.

Lichaj is done, JK won't call him in, just how it is.
Anyway, I agree with that tandem but FJ is far and away the better defender than Run DMB. So that being said, I'd love to have DMB at LW and Fab at LB... The pace on that side of the field would be nasty! And Landy and Timmy Chandler burning down the right flank... Oh boy, I can't wait to see the finished product that we take to Brazil in '14.

Of course he does.

The German system and methods are clearly better.

Thus, the US *needs* to hire (and put all of their eggs in the basket of) a highly sought-after and succesful German coach.

Duh.

ETA: Laughing because of the LD/Boca situation and this guy is added. He is a normal player added for most US rosters.

Jurgen will do fine...but we could have paid somebody significantly less to the job he's going to do. Any strides made in this cycle come from a better talent pool, not from coaching.

Beasley barely survived at LB in Mexico. I appreciate what he did, but I think relying on him to play LB going forward would be a big mistake.

Reading Jurgys comments re: wingers makes me hope that he doesn't really yet know the meaning of the words in English.

4 points out of the last 2 qualifiers, this board will be singing a different tune if we do well over the upcoming WCQ'S

And at the thought of Bob Ball coming back

I've been a JK supporter since the start. He just irks me sometimes.

Could've fooled me (not being a smartass). I rewatched the Guetamala and Jamaica wcq's among others over the past few days. In those games we were playin fast, attractive, possession based football and we looked good doing it. In Honduras we failed for many reasons. Costa Rica was a snowstorm and a hard earned W. In Azteca we had a 1st half that showed capable possession and a couple decent chances, and a second half that parked the bus and was playing short handed on both ends. I'm waiting to see us down the road with LD, Deuce and MB90 all on the pitch together. But until then, we have plenty of our A squad in this upcoming camp to see good attacking football. That is, if JK puts offensive personnel on the pitch together...

I would take that lineup in a heartbeat, EJ and Zusi are both in awesome form. Jones and Bradley are both in good form and coming off great performances also(MB went 90' and was 96% on his passing, Jones scored a goal). Jozy and Boyf up top is what I really want to see, let Herc come on in the 60-70'.

ETA: I would especially like to see a formation similar to that because I want to see us eventually evolve to a point where we don't need a dedicated 6 role. I want to see us play with midfielders who can alternate going forward and be disciplined with their runs, allowing us to have more people dedicated to the attack.

wow i just realized that is 12

ETA: Also i think the most effective way to get Jozy goals is to pair someone with him up top. We don't need 5 midfielders.

that is 12, but you got the gist of what I was saying.
A 4-4-2 with Boyd up top w/ Jozy and Zusi and Dempsey on the edge. Let Deuce fold inside and Fabian overlap him for width, 1 of the 2 CM's could cover if needed. Would look good IMO.
