Quite possibly for the first time in history, in spite of "achievements" over past 20 or so years. Potential is rather scary

As excited as I am over this, I really wish the dudes on Reddit would chill the frick out with the self-loathing "I know it was a friendly against Germany's C side..." bullshite. The 'Murica tards are equally bad because it's all they have to say.

We put boots to arse over there. Stop apologizing and fricking own that shite.

First 30 minutes the Germans owned our asses and should have out more than one in the back of the net. The next 15 minutes were basically a draw. The USA owned the entire second half.

Herrmann for Germany was trouble for us the entire first half.

Bradley was amazing box to box the entire game.

Dat Wood dough

Yes. Had some chances, blew them all.

God that's an amazing gif.

The look on Podolski's face is priceless.

That look is the reason that I try my damnedest to nutmeg one person in every game I play.

It usually ends up as Evans' nutmeg did (nowhere), but no fricks are given. It's one of the most demoralizing things you can do to an opponent.

@dubrie: The #USMNT is playing with the swagger of a country that just arrested soccer

- Bradley again was a menace. He's so dangerous when he can collect the ball deep and make those knifing runs through the defense. His pass to Mix on the goal was beautiful as was Mix's first touch

- I still want to know what Chandler was doing on the German goal. They got possession in their own third on our left. And Gotze finished with Chandler still behind the play on our right. With that said it was probably his best game for us which isn't saying much

- I thought Brooks and Alvarado played well together and it looks like this is the pairing of the near future at least. I do like Brooks' composure on the ball

- Zardes missed some good chances but I like how he keeps getting in position to take these chances

- Williams and Beckerman both did well protecting the back 4

- Yedlin's pace must be terrifying for defenders. He reminds me of a less polished Montero from Swansea when playing on the wing. You know what he's going to do but you still can't stop it. He did get caught ball watching right after he came on and gave up a cross into the box though

- Morris just seems to have great soccer IQ. Has definitely deserved a run of games in the GC

- Wood - by far the biggest surprise of this past week. What a beautiful goal. Hopefully he can figure out his club situation and get some good PT next season

The best thing about Zardes is that we dont have to change styles if Jozy is hurt.

i literally didnt know he had been on the field. I missed the sign noting the sub chnagees, so looked at the fotbmob app and saw he had been taken off, couldnt remember him even touching the ball

Also forgot about AJ. He provides something our other forwards don't in that he can face goal and take on defenders with the ball at his feet. I like how we were able to get him the ball in these situations instead of trying to use him like we do Jozy

Aguedelo looked intimidated. Got pushed around a lot and kept looking for the ref.

I really liked Morris' first shot, with the outside of the foot.

He's playing like young LD or young Eddie Johnson right now - all impulse and reaction.

We'll see what happens when he starts thinking.

The ease at which he ran around Germany's defense was astonishing. Any club watching that had to raise an eye to those possibilities. There is not a defender in the world that can stay with his pace and Yedlin sends in a pretty good cross as well. His low cross to Bradley's left foot was beautiful and Bradley just bombed it right into the goalie, unfortunately.

I may or may not have stood up and yelled when I saw that attempt. It was fluid and confident...and Morris had been on the pitch maybe 5 minutes at that time if I remember correctly.

Wood and Morris make me a lot more excited about our strikers than Wondo.
