It was more like 1 second, and no one heard the whistle.

They actually called a PK on that. It was definitely a penalty, but you hardly see that called.

What? How do you even argue against them? Messi got kicked from behind on the first, and both Puyol and Busquets were pulled down in the box from on a corner.

Clear PKs.

Puyol felt the jersey pull and dove onto the ground. That contact literally happens on every free kick and corner kick ever. Technically yes its a foul, just like technically it's a yellow card for kicking the ball after the ref blows the whistle. Point is barca seems to get these very borderline calls every time they're in trouble in the CL

Busquets tried to get away from him as well. It was a foul outside the box, I don't see why it shouldn't be a foul inside the box. It doesn't get called very often, but I can't argue against it.

The first was pretty obvious. Puyol was essentially tackling Ambrosini on the second who in turn pulled down Busquets who he was marking, it was a wash if anything. With that being said Milan is asking for penalties with how physical they are playing, it's really the only way they can keep up with Barca.

You can't argue against a call that is never made being made in one of the most important matches of the year?

I don't like Busquets, but if a player is getting held outside of the box and goes down, nobody complains about it. Why should there be a double standard in the box? A foul is a foul anywhere on the pitch. Ambrossini or Nesta shouldn't have gone full retard in the box, at Camp Nou, and not expected to get a penalty. Man United, Madrid, and hell Milan all get the same home field treatment all the time.

Some Barca player, either busquets or pique, was setting a goddamn pick to free puyol up on that play. Gotta call the offensive foul there

ETA: sorry puyol set the pick for Busquets. And Wynalda just said it. Busquets just dove and Puyol was setting a pick

When it is called, I can't argue it. This is the continent. Games are called differently. In Serie A or the EPL, that isn't called (except for a few instances I can remember). It's not like it's a phantom foul. Is it homecooking for Barca? Probably.

Exactly. If level of contact that occurred on that play, in the box, was consistently called you would have a point for a penalty being given, but it isn't.
