Why?

Like... what's the point? We know what we have with Timmy.

I just really can't get excited for this game after the last one. If he starts Pulisic and Nagbe, I'll be inclined to watch. I just don't want to see Zusi and Wondo play in a 3rd place match.

Exactly. We know what we have with him. I think Guzan is our #1 for the foreseeable future. Either give Guzan some more minutes with a stable defense in front of him, or play Horvath.

Another waste of a game to get people some experience

It's not a waste if we use tomorrow to give guys like Pulisic and Nagbe a start & 75-90 minutes, especially with the September qualifiers coming up.

Geez. Overreaction. Guzan played admirably considering the rest of his team didn't even show up. That score could have easily been 6 or 7 nil.

I don't think its Guzan getting benched as much as seeing what Timmy has left in the tank. He hasn't played much outside of a couple of courtesy starts since January

Brooks and Johnson are apparently hurt and not expected to play

I expect Castillo, Kitchen, Besler, Nagbe, Pulisic, and Birnbaum to get serious minutes. I hope Nagbe and Pulisic start. Kitchen too. But if Jurgen trots out Wondo, Beckerman, and Zusi I might just turn off the tv in disgust.

By the way, how ridiculous is it that our backup to our 34 year old midfielder is another 34 year old midfielder? Where the frick is Danny Williams or Alfredo Morales? Why are we not getting these guys experience in meaningful tournaments? It's frustrating as frick as a fan because not only would it make us better now, but it would make us better prepared for important games in the future.

Nope there's another fullback who has just been waiting for his chance. The man is a legend. You know his name.

Good, Guzan had a bad night against Argentina (I have no idea why this board gives him a pass).

We know what we have with Guzman too, so unless you are starting Horvath then it's a waste under your criteria.

Reality is, Tim is an all time USMNT great, and that will be true decades from now as well. Nothing wrong with giving the guy an appearance when he's given up time to sit the bench this summer.

Sorry to piss you off, but Howard isn't taking that #1 spot back.

And I'd love to hear who didn't have a bad game against Argentina.
