quote:

The USA face Peru in a friendly on 4 September and Howard exclusively told evertontv: “That is the plan [to return soon]. I spoke to coach Klinsmann and we have had open lines of communication as recently as last week. We spoke but obviously they are very busy with the Gold Cup at the moment.

“We will speak again after that tournament finishes and I will make myself available for selection. We will see where we go from there.

“I have missed it. It was a tough decision to make. It has been a good break, but all it has done is really fuelled my fire. I have missed the boys, the competition and playing in front of the US fans.”

I'm still baffled by all the Bhoy hate for Tim Howard

It's better to just ignore him. He's zealously embraced the role of being the board antagonist, I'm, honestly, not sure he believes 90% of what he posts.

I don't hate him. I just think Guzan is a better all-around keeper. And that the majority of Howard's saves in the Belgium match were routine/bad finishing.

I don't know if I've ever seen a happy post of his. It may be an act, but he seems to enjoy being abrasive all the time.

Id still rather have Timmy in the ears of our CBs than Guzan. But i like Brad too.

You're such a contrarian douchebag.

Can someone explain to me how this sabbatical is different from Donovan's? I guess the timing in that Donovan did his during qualifiers.

Stupid on his part.

I wonder if Klinsy treats him like he treated Donovan after his hiatus...

It's Brad's team anyway.

Gonna ruin his legacy with this stupid move.

It's not IMO.

If we qualify for the Confed Cup then I'll be pretty pissed at Jurgen if he brings TH along and starts him.

Tim Howard isn't trying to make another WC team

Or at least I'm assuming Tim Howard at 39 won't be on the WC team

Personally that's why I find this stupid. This is like Michael Jordan coming back on the Wizards.
