PSG of course. They have to overpay players to satisfy their wages demands in light of that horrendous tax code in France.

In France your wages after the first million are taxed at 75%. It's absurd.

That's why contracts in Europe are loaded with bonuses that don't get taxed

But that doesn't apply in France. That is considered income in France. You get raped in France.

I'm glad to see the Soccer board scoffing at that ridiculous tax. The way things are going now, it seems a lot of people in America would love this due to the "income distribution" being "more balanced".

Taxes do go towards more in Europe than they do here, it´s a fact. Healthcare and retirement funding suck a lot of money.

By the way, the US wasn´t far off from this up through the late 70s, but yeah, given how this country´s economy/social services panorama is structured, I don´t see the need to ´balance´ income distribution.

The US spends 2x what England, Spain, and France spend on health care per capita. It's a hard fact to believe, when you consider that we don't have universal coverage, but there is a lot that causes this inflated number.

I don't keep up with French politics but I thought I recently read somewhere that they are going to be doing away with that tax law soon? Regardless, I figure whenever when ever is the next time France's right-wing political party (parties?) have control of the government they would probably at least relax that law, right?

I remember when Beckham signed with PSG, IIRC he gave what was left of his salary, after taxes, for that one year to charity.

It resulted in one of the best Zlatan quotes ever,
"I heard Beckham's decision and it made me think, who is most deserving of all of the money that I, Zlatan, am paid? The answer is Zlatan. The children of Paris are not leading Ligue 1 in goals this season. I am. I have 20 goals. The next best players have 12. Twelve! If anything, the children of Paris should be giving me even more money for having the privilege of being in the same city as my incredible quality. And so should David Beckham. Call it a Zlaritable donation."

We just throw money at problems blind. Europe does it too but without as many problems and without as much money
