I know many feel that way... I don't.... Though I'd agree if he did a Tyson and ripped part of his flesh off...

He'd insist upon receiving rabies postexposure prophylaxis on the field

Attacking the other team physically when things are not going your way is not fire or doing what it takes to win.

These athletes undergo much medical attention and screenings... I think Chiellini is safe...

Yep, its so serious that the first reaction is for most people to make jokes about it... :roll eyes:

I get it, he is going to have to deal with abuse from rival supporters, but hopefully, like this season, he thrives off it..

I said this yesterday. It would have caused an all out brawl. The internet would have melted.

You've probably read many of the LFC based editorials on this, but Jim Boardman sums it up pretty good for me..

quote:

It’s difficult to defend Suarez for this. He knows it’s wrong to bite people – but he bites people. The only defence anyone could offer is that he doesn’t know why he does it and that, maybe, it’s down to some kind of psychological problem. It’s quite possible that he needs help rather than punishment, but you’d struggle to find anyone talking about anything other than the severity of the punishment he deserves.

Football fans always love their own players, almost in the same way as a parent loves their child. Being a Liverpool fan, where Suarez is concerned, is like being the parent to a toddler. Replace ‘first steps’ or ‘first words’ for ‘brilliant volley’ or ‘audacious chip’.

Remember that in between those moments of joy and happiness are those difficult moments – the tantrum in the shops, the toys out of the pram, the phone call from nursery that your lad hit someone else’s lad, or bit their shoulder.

As a parent – or fan – you want to stop those difficult moments. You want your child – or favourite footballer – to learn why they shouldn’t do those things. You want to understand why they do, and you hope they grow out of it, that they will mature, but whether they do or not you’ll keep supporting them because they mean far too much to you for you to just give up on them.

Still does not negate the fact Suarez could have what ever in his mouth and biting is a pretty effective form of spreading something. Saying an elbow is just as bad is not even logical.

People are laughing b/c they can't believe this is now a third time and on the worlds biggest stage.

He 100% deserves all the abuse from fans and bad press coverage he has no one else to blame but himself with that wrap sheet.

Wrong, the initial WOWs are the shock... the jokes/memes are because people find humor in it... to say otherwise is being disingenuous..

I'm done with this, so we can spare the board pages of back and forths over our disagreement on this...

There is no black and white here man. You are way too emotionally invested with the guy. Its good you stick to your convictions for the support of your club but after this many incidents its time to come to terms with reality.

Im not even trying to be an a-hole here this is real talk

This argument that a headbutt or elbow is the same as biting just doesn't fly with me. Society makes value judgments all the time about certain actions, condemning some over others despite similar consequences. Biting someone from a societal point of view is just a primal act of degradation. I would rather someone hit me square in the nose than bite me, you know, since I'm not an animal and all. The fact that this guy is just going around eating people makes the sport and all associated with the player look bad. Society just doesn't understand this animal behavior.

Biting is heinous.

How many times would you have to bite another random adult before you were put in jail. Competition shouldn't excuse the crime.

I'm okay with it. I'll wait until the WC is over, and when the US pre-season tour begins.

Agree.

As Ballack said, it's "sub-human."

Exactly in all my years playing sports ive been elbowed plenty of times and for the most part kept my cool.

If I was ever bitten id either flip out or just stand there in utter shock like did that just happen.

Maybe we're being too ethno-centric. Biting may be a part of his, and Uruguay's, culture.
