A few moments of panic, but overall we really kept our defensive organization. The clearances were questionable at best, but they certainly weren't really caught out of position.

Hendo has looked good since coming on, can tell he's wanted to be back out there.

Hendo has definitely looked good.

Ibe has been pretty good today as well. He has been the catalyst for a lot of attacking movements.

An ugly win, but I'll definitely take it

Thought we actually looked pretty good, defending and pressing at least, despite the general sloppiness of the game

Can was excellent at DM in my opinion and the back line as a whole looked good

I thought he was MOTM... Perhaps Klopp can transform him into a top DM... I like how, one of the last matches, he was yelling at him from the touch line... something to the effect of... If you can't get back in position to defend, don't make the runs forward...

Unlike Rodgers, Klopp seems to understand the importance of defending...

That said, I really like Can in a b2b role...

Also, I think Hendo will thrive under Klopp

I still think one of the things we're missing from our CMs is some creativity/playmaking... whether it is more advanced or from a deeper role... we could use that..

I agree, but I did like how the outside mids folded into the middle.

I like their effort and pressing, but feel they lack that finals pass.. though Can showed glimpses today and Hendo has in the past... I don't think Milner or Allen have that in their game, though they have other qualities.

I really like the X-mas tree formation we've been using... I feel it fits our current personnel, since I believe Ibe is the only real, true wide player...

If Can has the discipline to stay in the middle and hold, I think our best 3 CMs would be him, Hendo and Milner... maybe Lucas rotating in at times for Milner (and flipping with Can)..

Agree with you on all points.

For the CMs, there are plenty of minutes with all of our matches. I would be ok with the three you name as the first three - however, Klopp seems to really like how Lucas plays that role.

I think its amazing how much better Lovren looks with some defensive organization in front of him. I mean, he's not great, but he's fairly solid, absent a bad clearence or two (or that one moment of panic he usually has). But he's defending the space pretty well and the high line pretty well. Still prefer Sakho 100%, but Lovren is doing a nice job the last few games.

I think we're still pressing too much when we get in front of goal - Lots of bad touches when we should be getting shots off. Bentenke trying to lay it off when he has plenty of space to do his thing. Confidence is a big thing or these guys - especially between different player combinations.

6th!!!!!!!

4 points from 4th!!!!

6 points from 1st!!!!!

I thought Can was good today, but I think we really missed Lucas's control, and distribution. He has silently been pretty much the best CM in the league this year.

Life is good.

And getting better. We are starting to get injured guys back, and our next two BPL matches are against Newcastle and West Brom haha

Yup coming up on a much more manageable run of games and most are away which we've actually been playing better away from Anfield. Feeling a little optimistic

Big match today, boys! Yeah, it's just the fricking League Cup, but with our next match being against Newcastle on Sunday, I say we really go for it today at Southampton.

Any lineup prediction? If like to at least see Benteke, Lallana, Lucas, and Ibe. Maybe Firmino as well? Wouldn't mind seeing Texiera get the start.
