Like they said, Basel's a tough side and always a tough away. Good thing is I don't think this is one of their better sides, but they still haven't lost like their last 9 games or something. I'd say getting any kind of points would be good

That official? I could've sworn Markovic had to sit out another game for his red card in the Europa final last year

No Lallana or Moreno? Resting them I guess? Interested to see how Markovic does.

Outnumbered in midfield. In the final third, shite passing, shite touch, and terrible decision making. And to top it all off, a set piece with another error from terrible defending. Same shite, different day.

We are so painful to watch, offensively more so than defensively... Something needs to click soon..

You guys need someone who can protect the back four. Gerro that deep isn't going to cut it esp at the UCL level.

Also you might want to revoke this dude's LFC fan card.

You're preaching to the choir. Problem is we have no one good enough to replace him in the squad

Might as well try Can there when he's fully fit. He should be some what comfortable there just need him to settle down.

I've said it before but I don't know how well he'll fit there. Sure he looks like a DM, but you said we need someone to sit in front of the front line and Can does not seem like someone that wants to do that. He roams all over the place

frick, I'd settle for conceding goals like last season if we can get our offense clicking again...

Everyone just seems to be trying too hard to make something happen and its not working... sloppy passing, poor finishing, etc...

Lots of injuries and new faces. A shaky start to the season obviously, but still a LOT of talent there. If BR can get it clicking watch out.

It's just a bad situation all around. If we don't spend wisely in January we're not making top 4.

Balo looks bad.

frick everything.

3 weeks boys....I'd love to see a classic match at Anfield with Real pulling out 3 points in the end.

I'd damn near kill to be at Anfield on Oct 22.

The players' touch was startling. Absolutely fricking pathetic on the ball.

Ballo was a total waste of space out there. I think he's played well so far this season so I'm not seeing this as the norm, but Lambert came in and played exactly how Mario should have all game. He was knocking balls down and laying off to runners left and right.

Our Enrique rebirth from Boro lasted a whole one game. He was probably the worst player on the pitch.

Skrtel never changes.

I think I'm in love with Lallana.

Marko finally showed us he had a pulse.

Overall, it is concerning. The team is an absolute snooze fest to watch. As much fun as last year was, that's how miserably boring we are now. It doesn't make sense. My optimism is waining, although I haven't given up hope yet considering all of the injuries and the fact that everyone is still bedding in. However, if we lose/draw vs West Brom I'll start using the term crisis. We need to fix this and quickly.

I see this match playing out one of three ways:

Liverpool dominates possession, looks improved all around, gets a goal either late 1st half or early 2nd half. Then concedes the equalizer close to the end of the match. 1-1.

Liverpool dominates possession in the early game, can't quite find a goal. Early in the 2nd half WBA scores a goal off of a set piece, and then parks the bus. Liverpool completely unable to get anything going offensively. 0-1.

Sturridge overcomes his injury and starts. The Coutinho-Sturridge connection is back on, and goals come. Hell, even Balotelli gets on the board benefitting from Sturridge's impact. 4-0.

Probably scenario 1.

Scenario one and two look like an 80% chance considering our form right now.

We must have watched a different game - I thought he was his usual Meh self that he's been all year. Bad touch. No ideas. Not really taking people on.
Not showing the burst he supposedly has, etc.

We are absolutely both boring and frustrating to watch. Sterling's horrible touch when in on goal was the moment I've most ever wanted to just turn off a game and never find out what happened after that.

West Brom will be interesting - its not "must win", but it kind of is. They have 2 or 3 athletic guys playing up top - the kind that give us complete fits. Without a doubt our lack of scoring is the most troubling thing right now, and I can see us easily losing to WestBrom if we don't put some in the back of the net.
