If this scoreline holds... prepare yourself for BR's talk about clever substitutions and winning the second half

Its a bad feeling that our biggest scorer this year has been told he won't play regularly. He's obviously not the player he was or needs to be.

But he still may be our best player. Which is very very sad.

We played well today, it just didn't fall for us.

How many of those goals weren't penalties?

Yep... I think he's still good enough and I love when we see him play in a more advanced role... But he needs to be in a side that could cover his weaknesses, not in a youth project...

I'm glad he chose to play in the MLS over another European club... I will enjoy watching him..

I hope Ibe is ready to play a full EPL season... physically he looks up for it..

If we end up selling Sterling, we could have a ready made replacement for his minutes and spend the £ on a striker and DM, etc..

Could be wrong, but I believe all comps he has 13 goals and 4 of them were penalties.

Recurring theme -

The other team has about twice as many good chances as we do. This was true even during our winning streak.

He's not as advanced as Sterling - I can't see him faking out Kompany and Hart like Sterling did last year. But Sterling played with Suarez last year and I think learned a lot.

But physically, he's a like for like replacement. I think we'll miss a few things, especially at first.

Liverpool qualify for 3rd qualifying round of Europa League (July 30, Aug 6). Will bump up to group stage if Arsenal win the FA Cup.

Guess I'll have to pull for the Gunners then.

I don't really have an issue pulling for Arsenal in general, in regards to the top 4-5 clubs...

Yeah, that won't bother me too much... Hope it doesn't take long to see a change at manager

My stance all along has been they will keep him, but I gotta think these past two weeks have possibly changed things, with today being the end of year three and one of the most embarrassing, lifeless displays in a long time... We were better under Hodgson, for fricks sake!

Should Rodgers be retained, how much money does FSG have to work with approximately this transfer window? I would hope that Rodgers isn't retained, but I think one or both of Rodgers/Sterling will be gone. Hopefully if Rodgers goes, the new manager will want to feature, or at least play more of Balotelli and two-striker systems.

I will say it again, but I LOVE the fight that Lallana showed today. If he played with that attitude every game, he would be a legitimate mainstay in our front three next to Coutinho.

Ibe is the real deal at wing. With a full season coming for him next year in all likelihood, he is going to create good chances.

I am interested to hear what you all think we do with Allen/Lucas. They have both been largely non-existent this last half (benefit of the doubt, caused by injuries likely). They have both shown flashes of being good this year, but no real consistency that I can remember.

If Can moves into the midfield, I will be happy. The worst case scenario for this window is that we keep Rodgers, maintain status quo in the striker corps (i.e. the suggested direction we have seen Origi and one more), and don't bring in a good defnesive mid/fullback. Unfortunately, that is what I imagine will happen.

No, Arsenal are easy to pull for. And are generally my second favorite team due to their style. Sometimes a certain player will push another team ahead of them (such as Tottenham when Modric was there as I loved watching him).

Well, glad this season is finally over.

I can't trust the committee with another big window of spending. Something has got to change. And imo, its a bit late to bring in new people suddenly to do it. That change should have been made after January.
