I mean, setting aside my grievances for a second, I'm paying 50 dollars more for what I had last year plus some clips and archived games and shite.

I'm sure some people will use that, but it's probably nothing I couldn't get elsewhere. I highly suspect 100% of the purpose behind the "extras" was to soften the blow for making you pay for something you got for no extra charge last season. The real reason, of course, is NBC deciding it wasn't cashing in enough on a growing interest in the US, not the additional content.

But we're rehashing the same stuff. Honestly, if they'd let me pay 50 bucks for the same shite last year through my cable provider (like Sunday Ticket or the like), they can save their bonus content.

yeah that's a fair argument. I guess they figure these days most people either have apple tv, roku, amazon fire tv, etc etc.

I have an Amazon Firestick, is that different than Fire TV?

Bc the original product was free

Pretty sure you still needed a cable subscription in order to watch things on Live Extra last season.

So if I pay for this, will the gold channels be available on direct tv to just watch normally?

I don't stream anything other than Netflix. If I can't simply watch on direct tv or DVR I just don't care enough to watch.

It's not available through your cable provider so you have to stream it through a device. This is why I was wondering if the fire stick worked for this. Would much rather watch on my Sharp Aquos than an iPad.

Yes. The Amazon Fire TV is infinitely better than the Amazon Fire Stick.

A firestick would work but if it was me I'd upgrade to the fire tv.

And that cable subscription included things that now cost 50 bucks to stream.

Thanks etm.

Yeah that sucks. I'll just watch what NBC puts on TV.

Another thing is, with data caps being the norm for American ISP's. This really fricks the consumer over forcing them to stream matches not on tv. So in theory you have to pay for tv, pay extra for their streaming service and then put a dent into your data cap.

That's some bullshite, if I'm going to eat into my data cap ill find a much more cost effective way of doing it.
