Regardless of if it looks dumb as shite to us, it's his money and he can spend it (under FFP of course) however he pleases.
As I said last week, I agree. Doesn't change the fact that its stupid as hell.

Being against FFP, as it is currently constructed, is the only moral stance to take.

Using personal attacks only makes you look insecure in your positions. You'll notice I never resort to such tactics with you.

Yea then one day he doesn't like to spend and the club is frickkeddddddd. Like admin fricked
Which is both awesome and terrible. Terrible for their fans and their history. Awesome for LFC.
Again, I'll repeat myself from last week. City's spending policy is nothing but beneficial for the other clubs. Sure we may have to compete harder short term but long term its in our advantage. And in the mean time I get to laugh at them like I laugh at how my 5 year old cousin spends his monopoly money.

Yes, which is why it is a bit different, but we all know Jerry would blow the wallet if the salary cap was gone, like he did in the early 90's before the cap existed.

Who is to say he'll get tired of it? I see this argument all the time and I just don't see that happening. Obviously, it's a possibility, but you could say that about any owner of a big time club.

That day doesn't appear to be coming any time soon.

It says that you have a hard time accepting the fact that your way of looking at things isn't the only one out there.

not at all
your support against ffp is one thing but the way you present it and defend your stance are absurd

I won't disagree that it isn't a play toy for him, but we'll see. Like I said, I don't see it happening any time soon and if it did City will likely already be a world power by the time it did and would be an attractive purchase for another owner.
As much as you guys may hate to believe it, they will one day get through the Rd of 16 in the UCL haha.

It's really just a matter of philosophy. I don't feel that owners should be prevented from spending cash on wages/transfer fees as they see fit. Not talking about debt put on the club but just out of pocket cash. That's not an outlandish position but it doesn't fit with your ManU agenda so you just call me names as you have no good arguments against it. It's that simple.

what agenda is that
o yea your conspiracy about FFP in place to keep the same clubs at the top
Yet a majority of clubs in Europe voted yes on FFP

I have literally no qualms with City's success. Its the means by which they seek to accomplish that success that I just can't fathom. Anyone with a 1001 collegiate level economics or finance class would agree.

only so long you can operate in the red even if you have insane finical backing
its also hilarious how the 200 billion dollar academy and stadium expansion happen after FFP is passed bc they just can't splash senseless cash around.

Majority? Pretty much every single poster save like 3 or 4. In fact, I'd venture to say 90% of this board agrees that FFP is not nearly effective enough and actually needs to be stricter.
But I'm sure that's because its a big conspiracy right? And all of these posters are fans of the Illuminati of soccer?

I was just talking about your positions being based only what's good for your club. Makes it difficult to take you seriously.

Of course they voted for it. It gives them a built in excuse to feed their fans as to why they don't spend as much as they could.
quote:

I don't think the majority of this board has really thought about FFP that deeply.

More personal attacks
If it was just about protecting the clubs they could have tailored it in a way that prevents putting debt on the club but gives owners the freedom to spend their own money if they wish.
Even FFP proponents on here say they are okay with an initial investment in players, as that is currently the only way for a club to become internationally competitive. Well that's no longer possible, is it?

its good for any club or business for that mater to operate with in their fiscal constraints

Most people don't want their club to go under.

How many clubs have gone under that didn't involve a ton of debt being out on the club, which everyone agrees is a bad thing?
