Yep, and Sterling is just getting better and better... he's willingness to do his part tracking back is impressive too... too bad he didnt score on Studge's through ball to him...

Best midfield performance I've seen in weeks. And Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge are a joy to watch on the break

Suarez, I fricking love you

Loved what I saw from Flanagan as well. Made a few mistakes trying to take on a few people which resulted in a break for Everton but he'll learn from that.
All in all, I'll take it

That was fun!
I'll even admit, I hope Lukaku doesn't have anything too serious... he's a young, talented guy who has his best years in front of him... I just wouldn't mind seeing him take a little while to heal up...

BR said after the match he is hoping for a major signing... James Pearce of the Echo says we are in negotiations with Dnipro for Konopylanka

He's basically a forward right?

Can't be worse than Moses, but we need a defender, not another winger.

Anyone think Marc Pelosi looks like Shooter McGavin?

I'm just trying to picture whether Chelsea, City or Tin Tots will be the one to swooop in and get him.
Great game today - though luck yearly on that two good chances they had didn't go in.
Clearly not close to a full strength Everton either. But I don't have pity for anyone else's injuries.
I agree that Cous had his best game in quite awhile. I also though Gerrard looked better in his role, though how much of that was the lack of anyone inside to exploit that area by Everton. In all honesty, we should enjoy this one, but by now means read anything into it.
Its always great to see someone's defensive work-rate pay off, and it did in our second and fourth goals.

I'm not even going to pretend I know who played well and who didn't. Finn's was packed to the rafters and so was my liver. Its still all a blur. Never imagined with all of our injuries we'd ever have pulled one off like this. fricking brilliant.

I got the impression (inebriated at the time, admittedly) that Gerrard broke up everything that came into the defensive third centrally. Barkley is a force to be reckoned with on his good day, so its not like he was dealing with championship players.

And sending the head of recruitment instead of Ayre? If true, very interesting to see what will happen with him in the future.

He definitely broke some things up. His positioning was much better.
Barkley is young and relies a lot on his athleticism (which means Gerrard had to have good positioning) but I don't think he has as much clever movement yet - some, but not like some of our attacking players. Plus, I believe I read he was questionable to play due to his broken toe, meaning his athleticism of fitness may not have been 100%.
Certainly not unhappy about Gerrards play - it was better in many ways. Just cautioning (myself included) to not draw any bigger conclusions about it just yet.
Any season we can beat Tottenham 5-0 and Everton 4-0 is a fun one. Would love to have a few more of those over upper table teams this second half!

Gerrard's positioning was much better, but I think he also benefited from the team pressing as a whole which seemed a lot better, especially from Coutinho. They didn't have quite as much time on the ball to pick out passes it seemed, and then of course it helped to not have to worry about Lukaku drawing our central defenders all over the place leaving space in front of the back line. Still not sure about Gerrard in that role without an extra box to box midfielder like Allen or some other transfer.

Big win yesterday, huge. That match and the late March match vs spurs may just dictate top 4 or not.
