I agree, I really hope there is no injuries. Not just because they are our players, but fans (like me) just need to vent and ask question and let it sink in that Landycakes isn't coming back. Once the WC rolls around my arse will be at the pub cheering just like everyone else. I just need a week of bitching before I'm ready to accept the inevitable.

I disagree whole heartedly on brooks. That Ukraine game was the entire back lines fault, and the fact that they had never played together. Brooks is worth taking a chance on in case he hits a peak run of form in the next month he's our only defender with the athleticism to cope with our group

I have a weird feeling this is going to happen.

I hope you are right, but I really do not want to see anyone get left off.

However, if someone gets hurt, then Donovan HAS to go based on the reaction even if it is a keeper that goes down.

They should be allowed to take 24.

As for Green, the guy plays in the 4th Division. He couldn't do anything right in the Mexico game except fall down easily in the box. Super unimpressed with the only 30 meaningful minutes the guy has ever played.

Donovan also looked shitty, while Green should have had a PK given.

Brooks was partnered with Onyewu. He's also the 4th CB. The 4th CB isn't going to play, and I see no harm taking him over Goodson for the experience.

Oh, by the way, you know who was playing in the German 4th division around the 2002 WC because he couldn't make the first team for his German club, and who still got a callup?

Landon Donovan.

Klinsmann just said again (to Bob Ley) if a striker/forward goes down, Landon would be the first one back on the plane.

What about a midfielder? Who would go then?

Yeah, I'm sure you have a better idea than Jurgen of what JAB and Green can do

I personally would say Donovan, because I still see him more as a midfielder than a striker.

To be fair you are notorious on this board for questioning JK about always playing Jermaine Jones.

Donovan also has a 500 page resume, while Green has literally nothing else in a US jersey outside of a U-18 game.

Donovan had played for the USMNT multiple times, scored 5 goals and was in his 2nd MLS season at the time of the World Cup.

Yeah, if a forward or midfielder gets hurt, Donovan is the first call, maybe unless we need a DM if Jones or Beckerman go down.

Thats one of the most confusing things is why does Klinsy only see LD as a striker? I know he is getting older, but I would still rather see him in the midfield, and I still think he is in the top 4 best midfielders we have.

It would still be Landon. I mean, who are the other options? Edu and Corona?

Jurgen isn't that proud.

That's true, but I do think Jones should be in the 23. I'm still not a fan of his, but if we are using Cameron as a defender, then I think Jones is the best option at DM.

It was a weird way of saying that you brought a unique, but ultimately irrelevant fact. We are so much deeper.

My point was that you have no ground to criticize someone for questioning JK by using the "you aren't there" argument. It makes you come off as very ignorant.

In this case, what you did when you were 22 shouldn't really matter when you are 32.

Are you and Keys just upvoting everything the other posts here?

Like, I get the arguments. I'm also disappointed Donovan got left off and I would have had him in the 23. But y'all are taking this really, really personally.
