Yes I am a Liverpool fan, but it really doesn't matter to me who you support. We have a pretty good Liverpool following on the board, and Fulham/Everton could use a few more fans.

Based on your OP though, Liverpool fits pretty well. Like I said, they are rebuilding and should be thrilling to follow over the next several years.

The good thing about Hicks and Gillette- no one can accuse us of being band wagoners.

It'll be a bloodbath for sure. The reason I'm confident is that we had a great record against the top six last year. 3 wins, 4 draws, 3 losses, which I think is better than any other top six team. We're also the best team in open play scoring the most goals, 54, and giving up the least, 20. We have things to work on, specifically defending in set plays, which is a big thing.

Man U will be tough. Man City will have to find goals if Tevez leaves. 'Pool has bought a bunch of players, but we'll see how they play with each other. Who knows how Chelsea will look with AVB. Tottenham are up and down. If we keep Nasri and Fabregas, we probably have the best attacking unit in the league, all of whom have been playing together for a while.

I know Liverpool was 4-2-2 against the top 4. I think they went 0-2 against Tottenham though.

Second half of the season Liverpool earned top 4 points. And they have only gotten better.

Yeah 'Pool was a lot better with Daglish.

Don't forget for long portions of the season Arsenal was a lot better than Chelsea and Man City. It took 2 wins in the final 10 games, after the shitshow that was the CC final, for us to lose any chance at the title. Like I said, it's mental with Arsenal now. We need to grow up, but we keep getting younger and younger.

Chelsea is far from safe in my opinion-

-no Essien
-new coach
-who knows what you get from Torres
-Lampard/Anelka/Drogba aren't getting any younger
-only a matter of time until Terry bang's someones wife
-etc.

True true. Like I said, I like Arsenal. Easily my favorite top 4 team. If I had my way, City would go down.

And you know Roman will have a short leash on AVB, though I think he brought AVB in for Europe, which is pretty important for Roman.

And Man U hasn't found a replacement for Scholes, Man City has 55m in dead wages, 'Pool has 20 midfielders, Tottenham can't find a striker etc. Man U should be the early favorite, but I think Arsenal will go into the season underrated by the media because of all the drama this summer.

That must be the worst job in Europe. I mean Ancelotti won the double just two years ago, and finished second in the PL last season. I would hate to work for a boss like that.

I like 'Pool as well. Always some great games between Arsenal and Liverpool, and in the end, being entertained is all I care about.

Europe looks like it will be dominated by Mourinho and Guardiola for years to come. Ancelotti was a much more accomplished coach in Europe than AVB.

A couple points that I would like to add, and I do not have a team either:

Fulham and Everton seem to be the most popular non-power clubs because of their current ties to Dempsey and Howard, respectively. Bonus, Landon Donovan also went on loan to Everton.

In my opinion, there is really no bad choice in the EPL (yes, not even Manchester United) because it is highly unlikely that you have any ties to the team.

You should also read Bill Simmons's article on how he choose his team.
Part 1
Part 2

It is really worth the read. Let me know what you think because right now I am thinking Wolverhampton for some arbitrary reasons.

I have a friend who wanted to get into European soccer and he picked Wolves as his team (I have no idea why). Last year was his first year watching and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Their kits are nice too.

People who like attacking football should really see how Swansea plays. I think last year they completed 700 passes a game. Arsenal completed around 600. Obviously that will change in the PL, but they should play around every mid-table team. No history in the PL to speak of, but are the first Welsh club to play in the PL.

My friend and I started using them in FIFA on occasion jokingly, but then my interest kind of stuck. I know they have almost chance to make the top four and they could relegated, but I think I am going to try rooting for the Wolves this year. However, it may suck not really having many of the games on FSC.

We had an intense West Ham vs Wolverhampton FIFA rivalry going. He was thrilled that Wolves stayed up. They were in the relegation zone most of the year.
