BBC article said 2 players survived. The starting GK initially survived but passed at the hospital.

Just saw a video of them celebrating the win to put them through to this match. Just heart wrenching.

That picture is horrible. Can you imagine being one of those guys and thinking how close you were to dying with all your friends? Just a sad sad thing that happened

Apparently Brazilian Clubs are going to announce that they will loan players to the club for the next three years without fees and that the club will be exempt from relegation for the next three seasons.

Soccer is a corrupt arse game for the most part around the world, but shite like this shows just how a sport can unite a large population.

This whole thing is what I can only imagine a crazy nightmare for all involved.

Downvoted the last post by accident. Can't upvote enough.

I was following this a bit last night as news was breaking and am gutted that there are so many tragic deaths. This was an amazing story about a team that has rocketed up their domestic leagues and now had a chance to play for a storied trophy. So sad to hear.

The comparisons to Leicester are really weird (as far as shooting up the divisions goes). And it's really good to hear what the other teams are doing for them.

This may be a bad time to ask this, but apparently 2 players have survived. Any possibility of them playing again, or are their injuries too severe?

I saw someone mention above that the keeper had passed away, another one of the survivors is also a keeper and according to a link on r/soccer, he had his leg amputated.

The other survivor was a defender. They said he was injured and in shock but i think he's going to be okay physically.

Anyone know where to get a Chapecoense kit from a legit source?

This sucks. Reading this story and the responses has me going back and forth between good and bad chills.

This would be awesome. Support the club by purchasing their kit. I'll find out if any of the big sites have them.

Trying to search online.

Would buy a kit as well.

ETA: Looks like a majority of clubs have already signed the waiver or whatever for free loans and a relegation exemption.

One of the teams who has also signed to back the free loan deals is Portuguese side SL Benfica.

Found a thread on r/soccer of people forwarding others to Umbro's site to buy directly from there, but the site keeps crashing for me and those who have gotten through have said that they're sold out.
