That one hit me hard too. Especially since I recognized some of the names like Demitra, Salei and Vasicek as I'd watched them in the NHL growing up.

This hits just as close to home.

ETA: frick, to this day I didn't realize Karpovtsev and Korolev were coaches on that team. Jesus H.

Umbro seems to be the legit source so far. I'm going to contact them and ask them to produce more kits.

Edit: serious web traffic on umbro. Very sloooooooow.

this is awful. I can only hope they found some peace before the crash and didn't spend their last moments in despair

They've asked CONMEBOL to declare A Chapecoense champions of the Sudamericana.

This is one of those situations where I'm thankful that I can't even comprehend its severity because it's so much worse than I can even picture. Such a terrible tragedy

Here's a video of all the Athletico Nacional fans who still went into the stadium tonight (looks like a complete sell-out) singing for Chapecoense.

LINK

Also, it looks like there are an additional 10,000 or more fans outside the stadium there too

The Neto situation is tragic.

I also saw that the club denied the status that would have allowed them to remain in the top flight for the next three years, regardless of finish.
