My trial just expired. Xbox trial was for the full game.
Manager mode adds I'm a training aspect, but it it super time consuming to do all of the trainings yourself. I found myself assigning trainings and then simulating all five.
Game play seems improved but is not very different from 15. More realistic touches.
I started as a manager for Luton Town in League 2.
Loan system is improved. You can now do short loans, one year, or two hear loans. I targeted young guys for two year loans with an option to buy afterwards. This let's me invest in training these guys with the hope that I can get promoted and actually afford to buy them at pennies of their market value down the road.
Transfer budget doesn't adjust automatically for loans but it does when you are buying a player. I found this to be strange, quirky.

Why do so many of you like manager mode so much? I find it too easy and super unrealistic myself...

Manager mode is easily the most fun to me. If you play on a very difficult setting and don't cheat to give yourself super players it is easily the most fun imo. Building an Academy worth of great players also fun.

Good tip for any mode. Sliders help the game on any difficulty, because standard FIFA usually plays weird/cheap on World Class or Legendary.

I've used the Operation Sports' Community ones for years. They give more realistic stats and reward better play over just having the fastest players, which was a problem for me in the last few games. Also, they make the CPU tough but not automatic on passes and shots on Legendary or World Class.
These are the ones for 16, and they haven't changed much compared to what they usually have to tweak: LINK
