What changes are you referring to?
Here's an article on them.
Here are some parts I found noteworthy. The first few are why I think it'll be fun to be work your way up.
quote:
One of the biggest gripes with managing clubs in the lower leagues in Career Mode is that if you eventually make the Promised Land and gain promotion to the Premier League, you still only have a League One budget to work with. Due to the commercial revenue that comes with promotion these days that’s just not right, so to try and tackle that, EA have made a few changes.
The first is around the balance of transfer budgets in general which have been tweaked somewhat across the board to provide more realistic starting positions. EA have analysed the amounts spent by clubs over the last few seasons in the real world, and have tried to match Career Mode to that benchmark. That change in conjunction with the chance to boost your transfer fund as part of Pre-season Tournaments, should leave you in a much better starting place than in previous years.
quote:
Another nice change too is that if you have money left in your transfer budget at the end of the season, a percentage of it will be carried across to your next campaign. How much you get back depends on your performance against board objectives, but it’s much better than having £10 million wiped, just because you didn’t spend it.
These are just very convenient.
quote:
Auto Transfer Budget: If you have enough money to buy a player the budget will automatically adjust instead of having the user go back to the budget screen and adjust the slider manually.
quote:
You can now sign free agents outside of the transfer window.
quote:
After scouting a player, reports are available for an entire calendar year before they expire (previously they lasted 3 months).

Now that Krylya got promoted, the Belorussian GOAT Sergei Kornilenko is back in the game.
That may be my first manager mode.

I will probably start a manager mode with Derby County again. Will be very nice to work your way up from the lower leagues with the changes they've made to the game.
I dunno if I'll do Conventry again. Depends if they fixed manager mode to the way it used to be when you could leave the club when ever you wanted and be a free agent when all the jobs open up. Not just applying for open jobs through out the season and getting lucky. At some point I want to take over Kaiserslautern and turn them into the best club in Germany.

That had to be because of a random financial takeover or some huge sales. It didn't just happen naturally.

There's a shitload of fun in it though.
I'm still doing lesser clubs. Might try Chelsea.

Yeah. I was stuck around £500k with Newport County to start every season.

When I got promoted with Derby, I think my budget was still around 3.5 million. When I miraculously qualified for Europa League the next season, I think it was upped to 5.
The thing that killed me was my wage budget. I was forced to allocate nearly all of the transfer budget to wages to keep my players happy. The only way I could bring new players in was by selling an inform player for a high price. I never had much of an increase in transfer budget.

nope world class
I sold Zelalem when he was just 21 for 40 million to Bayern used that money to get Pogba on a free, Pobga forced his way out to City few year later for 45 million which was 50 less than what Monaco had offered the year before
I didn't make many big name buys just developed young players I got from big clubs on the cheap like James Wilson and Izzy Brown. Doesn't even matter now bc I took over United and their budget when I took over
was only 48 million.

Anyone playing yet?
How is manager mode? I'm sure it'll be broken in some way to begin with but does it at least seem promising? Can't wait til Tuesday!
Might be playing Ipswich. Long story short, I helped coach a rec league team with my neighbor a few years ago and 3 of the girls are now playing for the select U12 team around here. Their coach played at Ipswich.
