Yeah, I had just thought he was a player that didn't want to retire to the MLS. But I think at this point he realizes he isn't quite 1st team EPL quality anymore and if he wants another shot at a World Cup team, his best shot would be going to the MLS where he will have more chances to play over the next 2 years.
I do like Joel, though I wouldn't mind seeing if we can buy someone like Ospina this summer

Guaranteed. He did it for the Padres with Petco Park to keep my Padres in San Diego. Although he subsequently went AWOL for 3 years while his wife was divorcing him and stopped even paying attention to the actual club.
Not sure if I like the idea of Americans taking over, but one positive about John Jay Moores is that he seemed to hire top notch front office people to take care of business.
Hopefully he does that at Everton and stays out of Football Operations and lets the pros handle things on that side of the business.
