I can think of the 2011 Copa America and the 2006 and 2010 World Cups where they lost to the runner up in the quarterfinals. Is there anything else recently? Serious question.

friendly's as well. Which aren't the be all end all but they still mean a little.

I wouldn't base much off that, to be honest. Maybe it should make them panic a little about the upcoming cup, but that's about it.

Yes, because you're just talking out your arse with no knowledge about the other team. You just assume "we're England, no way Chile would be favored against us." That's a typical British attitude.

No it isn't. You really think say if people were predicting the game they'd pick Chile?

I don't think that would happen. Maybe 1 out of every 5 people would expect the upset. Say you know everything and they know nothing all you want but they get payed for their opinions you don't get paid to spread your English hate.

A friendly in Wembley, with an English officiating crew, maybe you're right.

An official match, neutral site, crew- I don't care, I think 85% of the world would take Chile. It would be handicapped as such.

yeah England played like shite the whole tournament what's your point?

So many things were wrong in the W.C. and England still got to the round of 16.

That's the arrogance that really bothers me about England. And I'm not trying to say Adam is like that.

How could you not love Slovenia? Pay special attention to the guy just to the left of #5, Cesar.

ETA: Sorry, the reference of the 2010 WC Group just me got excited about my favorite random team.

That the English have an inflated opinion of their status in the sport. Adam, this was published when the draw was made. Did you think at the time that England would play so poorly.

Would give a slight edge to England on neutral site. Maybe -105 on the books. Anyway Chile has one win and three ties against Uruguay dating back to the qualifiers. By your logic Chile IS better. Lol. And yes I have a Chile bat signal whenever they are mentioned.

well to be fair I don't think anyone expected Algeria or Slovenia to put up much of a fight but to think the U.S. would be easy was very very stupid.
