Believe it or not, there are some soccer reasons for not picking LD.

Nope. Brad Davis.

I was being sarcastic. frick Brad Davis and everything he's about.

I'll edit all of these posts if Davis plays well for us in the World Cup

Klinsmann was bailed out (justifiably) after the awful draw. Anything that happened would have been fine with me. We were truly fricked over.

He just withdrew his get out of jail free card.

So if we don't make it out of the group and Jurgen gets fired, is it safe to say he could have bought himself another cycle just by putting Landon on this squad?

it's not really comparable

if you're going to be an a-hole, you better always be correct

Being the best player in US history doesn't mean you're the best fit for the present team. This is sports, Michael Jordan shouldn't play on the next olympic team just because he's the best in history.

No there aren't. Look at our player pool. Look at the guys we brought on to the final 23. There are no soccer reasons.

This bodes well ( if true ) for J.K. and his authority over the USMNT from this point on. I am the biggest L.D. fan of all time, but at 32ish, you have to come in camp in shape. J.K. warned him last year. A 32 year old midfielder who has always relyed on pace, suddenly has no advantage over a young gun if his pace is gone, I know they have him listed at forward, but he is a winger.

Lets get behind J.K.

Yes. THen you could say he was put in a position to fail, brought his best squad and showed no arrogance or vanity in selecting a roster, and the team didn't do well being in an extremely difficult group.

Now, you can't say that. If the team does poorly, Klinsmann should be fired for his immaturity, poor decision-making, weak leadership skills, and use of politics in selecting a roster.

Hate to see it happen. Not going to look good for Jurgen if we have a poor showing.

Yeah, I'm furious but it's more extreme sadness and disappointment rather than 100% anger.

Landon is the best soccer player in USMNT history and for him to be cut like this for unarguably less talented players is a travesty.

This WC was to be his farewell tour with American soccer fans and it was just ripped away.

I seriously want to cry.

Donovan is the only player in our entire pool I trust to pick out a few world class passes in a match against elite competition.
