Even I was tired of Landon's "I'm above it all", faux philosophizing routine. He let himself get out of shape prior to the WC and Jurgen called his bluff.

If he didn't want to be there he wouldn't have shown back up in time for the Hex and tore it up during the Gold Cup.

I truly believe his sabbatical was for the good of his game, mentally and physically. I think it shows he wanted to be at his best for his country.

I guess us "fans" would like to see the best people on the pitch, even if as an impact sub, than the real "fans" like you who already are looking at the next world cup.

I think he's just kind of a strange guy. I'm entirely indifferent to how he acts.

I just want to hear Juergen's reasoning behind it. Landon looks like a "fat" 5'8" soccer player. So that means what? He's carrying ten extra pounds? If Juergen's pre-WC camp is so intense, why not give him until the deadline to work it out?

Jürgen Klinsmann left Landon Donovon off the U.S. World Cup team...Time for Americans to act like they understand soccer.

Wondo is there if you need a poacher late.

Can't comprehend leaving off the best player in the history of your nation off the roster.

I'm so fricking butthurt.

The striking options can't be that slim taking a 31 year old MLS guy who vs any decent competition fades away.

What some of you delusional folks don't seem to understand is we are not good enough to break teams down. We will score off of set pieces and counter attacks more often than not.

He typically takes our set pieces that aren't shooting set pieces ( and sometimes even them) and is by far our most experienced and effective counter attacker.
