Yeah, I'll repeat myself and say this is a purposeful rejection of Landon Donovan by Klinsman.

Any other player with Landon's current ability would still be on the roster.

I understand.

He could've taken Brad Davis' spot, but Davis is great for free kicks.

Not to mention Landon's presence as a veteran to the World Cup can have a big impact on the younger guys

I'm down with it. LD doesn't know if he likes soccer anymore, shows up fat. Let players that bust their arse make the trip to Brazil. This is a sign that the US is becoming a better team. Other countries always make tough decisions like this.

Truth. Ask Ronaldinho and Kaká.

If Davis is on the field and able to take free kicks then we're already fricked.

Landon said he can't go 100% everyday. He also went crazy last year. I'd rather have guys that know they want to be there.

davis isn't starting ever (i hope) and he sure as hell shouldn't be brought on as a sub for free kicks.

I said yesterday the fact that hes LANDON FREAKING DONOVAN probably actually worked against him in JK's eyes. If the STAR of the last decade is there, people are going to look up to him and the game is going to go through him. Evidently JK didn't want people looking up to Landon.

Love how all these "fans" are pissed. Landycakes is done. I'd rather move forward now without him.

This is so weird. It's incomprehensible, actually, to take Yedlin over Landon unless Landon really did something stupid in the few days of camp.

That's not what is happening. He is taking Julian Green or Brad Davis over Donovan.

He's a veteran and has a habit of showing up big when it matters. I don't care if he's out of shape, no reason he shouldn't at least make the 23.

I'm not sure that's how Landon operates. If he didn't want to be there, he wouldn't be there.

Trying to examine his mindset is pretty pointless, anyway. This is the same guy who listens to Five for Fighting to get pumped and then explodes and busts out throat-slit celebrations.
