Link to create your team

You have to create an account to save your lineups, but fun to play around on. I went with a 4-1-4-1

-------------------------McBride

Beasley----Dempsey---------Ramos------Donovan

-------------------------Reyna

Boca-------Pope-----------Lalas-------Dolo

It's close. Bradley was a tough omission for me. And Jozy has been on fire, but I think this group wins fairly convicingly.

Ramos and Reyna put them over the top. Plus Pope, Lalas are better than whatever CB pairing would be #1 right now.

Mastroeni over John Harkes or Thomas Dooley (or Bradley, at this point) is comical.

Wynalda's our 3rd leading goal scorer all time and he's only on 1 guys team? Did he kill weaker competition or do you guys just prefer mcbride? I never really saw wynalda so I'm just curious

Eddie Pope has to be one of the central defenders. He was our best defender for 6 years and in my opinion, far better than anyone we have right now or in 2010.

Wynalda was a less tricky, more direct, slightly faster version of Dempsey from the past year.

Central playing, willing to drop back to find the ball, good in front of goal, willing to shoot from distance. He was the PK and free kick taker for the US most of his career.

Preki was good but not all time great. The problem with making an All-Time team for the USA.... is the USA has been pretty terrible save the last 20 years. We're talking about a team who couldn't qualify from CONCACAF to save their lives. For the longest time our "good" players were average footballers save one or two. The 2013 Gold Cup Team would have probably beaten the 1990 and 1994 World Cup teams.

Preki was essentially Brek Shea.

Great for twenty minutes, terrible for ninety.

You are generally my favorite USMNT poster, but I am in shock that you used Brek Shea and great in the same post.

Meh. Shea is a handful for about 10-15 minutes. He's shown that multiple times.
