Should have some good loan material in the next couple of years!

Only the second time in 32 matches that we have come back from 2-0 at half to draw.

By the way, Hazard was fantastic in the second half. He busted his arse making run after run. Best game of the year for him. We saw the creativity of old

Just like Lampard, we won't even get to say goodbye to Terry.

Also, WHY IS GUUS NOT PLAYING THE KIDS?!?! The title race is over. Spurs aren't winning it. Chelsea have NOTHING to play for. The lineup should include about 6 players who are under 21. Clarke-Salter, Miazga, Aina, Loftus-Cheek, Kasey Palmer, Kenedy, Traore, etc should be mixed into the squad. See who can contribute for next season. LB position seems to be a blackhole. Baba has the physical tools to be great, but he had a nightmarish time again. That spot is a problem. Can't keep playing Dave there and having Ivanovic play RB.

So what do you guys rank, in order, of our needs this summer. Obviously they are many. My initial thought would be...

1. An athletic defensive minded box to box midfielder. Mikel, Fab, Matic are all way too slow to play back there.

2. A fullback with some speed. Baba just doesn't seem to have it. Azpi is fine for one side but we need someone to replace Ivan at RB or a LB and let Azpi on the right side.

3. A Frank Lampard type central midfielder who is not afraid to get in the box and support the striker by getting into scoring positions. All of our guys want the ball at their feet in wide positions but they never have anyone to provide service to in the box. RLC has showed this ability in the time he's gotten.

4. A backup striker. If Traore isn't ready to be that guy then we need to buy someone. Costa is just as likely to be injured, suspended, or being worthless and we need somebody we can count on behind him. Pato, Falcao, and Remy need to all be gone asap.

5. A CB. If Zouma comes back 100% this isn't a huge need imo but if not we are in trouble. I'd be fine with Kurt on one side and Cahill/Ivan/ or even Terry on the other.

Essentially we have to get faster/more athletic. Outisde of our wingers we are sloooooow everywhere else on the pitch.

Bringing in a couple of guys with attitude and maybe a little something to prove wouldn't hurt either. Maybe light a fire and get rid of the complacency we saw this year.

Not really a need but I'd be 100% fine if we sold Courtois to Real and let Begovic take over. We could make a lot of money on him, Asmir played just as well when he was in, and Courtois is a major b.

I saw this posted on The Shed about him that made me chuckle...

"He's a big-nosed, cattle trucking, waffle munching, flapper, who couldn't get a clean sheet in a laundry".

Well, you pretty much nailed it. Without knowing what Conte will be deciding, we could use quite a few more mids than we realize, or even 2 more 1st choice caliber STs .

Im not the biggest fan of Oscar, but i like when he plays in the middle of the pitch in box2box role. He has the hustle, clearly doesnt mind sliding into challenges, and can push the ball up and be creative. I think if hes around next season, Conte could really coach him up.

It's almost impossible to speculate defensively without knowing if Conte is committed to playing a 3-5-2 or if he'll be conservative and go 4-3-3. If he's running a 3-5-2, we'd need two CBs. We might need a LB either way, but I think Baba would be a lot better as a LWB.

Midfield I agree we need a dynamic box-to-box guy. I'd also like a true deep lying playmaker.

ETA: Terry seems to be surely gone. Mikel will probably be gone. Courtois, Oscar and Costa could be gone. Seems Hazard is staying put. Squad will definitely need about 6 or 7 new players. I think Traore/RLC/one of the loan guys might fill a couple of those. That means you're going to need to probably buy a couple midfielders, at least one defender (maybe two) and a striker.

Yea he has the energy and gets in the right spots but I just don't think he's a natural defender at all and frankly he's not that great in the attack either. He is willing but not able.

Cesc has the ability but not the desire/energy.

So we're stuck with two guys with huge flaws in their games being asked to do things they aren't that good at.

What a way to drop 2 points --- with just over a minute in stoppage. This craptastic season can't be over soon enough.

Lots of banners at the game tonight to try and get the board to do a u-turn. Next week should be even crazier. Nice cameo for Abraham tonight. Really sad we didn't use the opportunity to play more youth team guys. Hopefully we'll see RLC, Palmer, Clarke-Salter, Abraham, etc next week. I'd love a team with about 5 youth teamers in the XI.

Either way, we probably lose today if he had been in goal. Other than Bentheke's equaliser, Begovic was pretty solid.
