Like I said earlier in the tournament, I really just dislike Alexi Lalas. He always seems to be that guy who everyone thinks is a douche and justifies it as "I'm just a blunt and honest guy". It's fun when he's dishing it out on Mexico, and I know he loves the team. I just get tired of seeing him dish out "insight" that isn't really insightful and is for the most part negative.
He's exactly who came to mind when Rog Bennett was talking about people in the media who think they know way more than they actually know about the team and what's going on in camp.
You can't expect the players to take that shite and not react negatively. It's like the people who bitch at Skip Bayless. There's a reason Jozy said he hated him.

Pretty indifferent about Lalas, but his come back was fricking money.
I'm not saying I think Cameron is bad, and I don't think Lalas believes that either, but talk about getting shut the frick down by a comeback. And from someone with no soul!

I love Lalas, and I love Cameron, but Geoff comes off looking like an idiot here. First, your. frick, it's not hard people.
Second, Lalas was clearly doing a funny bit with Stone on fake USA-Argentina talking points. Cameron a) didn't get it and b) responded like a child.
The hate for Alexi on this board is Rant-like. 90% of the things he says are logical. He doesn't bullshite and spit the company line, but he doesn't hide his pro-US feelings either. And, he's really good at his job. He has the skill set and knowledge, and he doesn't play softball on set. He's good TV and he doesn't have to take sides under false pretenses (ala Bayless) to do it.
I love you Cameron, but you did something childish. Still love you though.

Ballack gets air time because of his name and career, but he's terrible English TV. Not sure if it's the language barrier, but he just gets frozen at times. When he does express what he's trying to say, it's often good.

Lalas is paid to give considered analysis of players and teams. As for the USMNT, he's done a good not great job of that. More than a few of his opinions and predictions have been contradictory, if not plain wrong. And because of his pompous and dismissive attitude on air and on social media, he pisses a lot of people off. His twitter response to Cameron was juvenile. No wonder MNT players can't stand him.
