I haven't watched CP enough. Curious as to where everyone thinks his best spot is.

Is Eden Hazard a crazy comparison?

Compare him to Pele because he's gonna win us 3 World Cups

He's our best player, he should. Just give me a diamond with CP as the 10

He is a very willing defender so he's played a lot of wide midfield for Dortmund and done a great job. Fantastic defensive work rate. Recently he's played more of a "right forward" postion. Basically he and Dembele have been in a more advanced role playing right underneath Aubamayeng. I think that's his best spot, he's a natural atracker. Essentially where Hazard is deployed for Chelsea but on the other side, Mane plays in that spot for Liverpool a lot.

I actually think hazard is a great comparison for what Pulisic can become. I know that's lofty expectations but look at the kid, he is destroying elite competition as a just turned 18 year old. He's planted Gotze, Kagawa, and Schurlle firmly on the bench. He needs to continue to get stronger to shake off tackles but Hazard quality is attainable down the road. I know it isn't apples to oranges, but at this stage Hazard was a spot starter for a team that finished 5th in Ligue 1

He's probably best on the wing right now. In the future, he should be able to move to the center.

I just think we'll never be at our best until we can play fabs in the midfield.

With the way Wood, Pulisic, Brooks, and Yedlin are progressing I don't think it's far fetched to say the team we send to Russia in 2018 will be the most talented squad we've sent to a World Cup assuming everyone is fit. I wish Julian Green would transfer somewhere and get playing time. A front three of he, wood, and pulisic would be ideal in 2022

Put Fab at LW and Pulisic at RW.

Klestjian or Feilhaber for now probably. Pulisic at RW would be much better than fricking Zardes

But all of this basically depends on what formation we use.

Like Altidore is our best striker, but he's at his best when he has a partner.

The third one is just tinkering, I don't know that we'll ever be savvy enough to switch between 5atb in defense and 3atb in attack, but that spot is where Pulisic has been playing recently for Dortmund and scoring goals. If we're going to build around him then that's probably where he helps us most right now

He's worthless without a partner. If we play a lone striker it needs to be Wood

Whatever Arena decides on, I hope he sticks with it. That would be a welcome change

To be completely fair, I criticized Jurgen for forming the team for the Mexico game around Pulisic as a #10. That was a massive match that actually mattered, but I want to be fair here.

I only want to see Arena do this if he's putting Pulisic in a position to be successful. I don't want unfair pressure placed on him. If it's at the 10, great. But let's get him some time there to adjust. It's been a while since he was playing centrally on a regular basis.

I've watched almost every minute he's played, so I will chime in.

Pulisic works best as a pure winger on the left or right. For Dortmund his main roll is to get to the by line and put in a cross, but he occasionally comes inside to open up space for other players, create overloads, or to provide a pass option to possibly then get a look at goal. He is not an inverted winger like hazard whose sole aim is to cut inside and shoot. He also defends way more than hazard does and he often puts in solid crosses. Lately Tuchel has been running a 3-4-2-1 with Pulisic and Dembele playing in the advanced 2 which roam in front of the midfield four and can play centrally or on the wings. He switches sides frequently with Dembele to confuse the opposition. In this role he plays more centrally than he does as a winger in a 4-3-3. He looks comfortable in both roles and in the 3-4-2-1 especially he is good at stealing possession and starting a counter. His speed and close ball control is a game changer where ever you play him, but I personally like him as a winger for the US since I feel like we have better distributors of the ball who can play centrally (Sacha and Benny). Other people on here watch Dortmund frequently and I would appreciate their input as well.

I mean, he's with Stuttgart now. If he can't get consistent playing time there, why even hold out hope?

I thought he was doing decently at Stuttgart, who should be back up next season.
