What level of talent does it take to get on an academy team? Is it the same level of an elite travel squad?

Hard to really tell at this stage with MLS academy teams bc they play lots local travel teams. The distance b/w MLS teams can be an issue.

Different academies have different standards. It's kind of hard to say.
