re: Arsenal 2016/2017 Season Long Thread: 13 time FA Cup Champs

Does anyone else think one of our issues is that our two best players and play makers are extremely 1 footed. Think of how much more they could do together if just one of them has the ability to use their other foot. Hell, I was thinking how I wish we had Andros fricking Townsend on our wing. He was at least beating guys off the dribble and getting down the flank. With Alexis, there's really no fear of getting beat by him. The only chance of getting to the end line is if Monreal overlaps. Then, if Ozil is facing to his right in the attacking third, the center backs might as well relax. The only way he is going to send anything in is with a miraculous pass from the outside of his foot.
It could just be frustration, but this thought came to me as I tried to fall asleep after wasting my time watching this game on my Dvr.

One of the reasons I REALLY wanted Draxler.

The problem is Ozil is a luxury player. Yeah he's smooth and can do some brilliant things, but he doesn't score and doesn't defend. And when things don't go right, he's even worse and looks hung over out there.
Alexis is a ball hog and gives the ball away way too much. But, because of his energy and ability to score, those bad traits usually get forgiven.
Again, these two players were deemed extra and not really worth it to keep at the best two clubs in the world. We aren't going to sign much better. So what Arsenal need is a manager that will keep this team organized and teach how to play team defense.
Seriously, I'm starting to think guys like Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis could get more out of this squad. And I hate both of those bastards.
I watched a clip of Jamie Carragher speaking. At the end he says Ozil and Sanchez have looked awful since the contract talks. They look like they are playing to get away. It's embarrassing. They were bought to win titles and take Arsenal further in the champions league. They haven't even been close.
He's right. I don't necessarily blame the players, sure maybe 3 players deserved to wear that shirt tonight. But Wenger runs this club, and rt now it's sinking.

A bit of organization would make this team instantly better. We also suck at the offensive end now too. It's been 3 and a half years since we could really play through teams. It's really pitiful to watch.

I said the other day it's time for him to go. This season has really just changed things. We started out so good (barring Liverpool) and beating Chelsea was amazing. I thought Arsenal could have a real good year finally, then Santi got hurt and, as always, November hit and we sucked again.
I hate the way it's happening for Arsene, I hate to see his legacy hurt like this but he needs to move on.
It's time for a new manager. I'll never say the words "Wenger Out" out of respect but I'm no longer a part of the "Wenger should stay" crowd lol

We were flying at the start, gave me confidence things changed. But it's the same, maybe even worse.

Yeah we are way worse now. In every area of the field.

Gets overlooked a lot.

I know you weren't really being definitive, but I will say that nacho is much better than he was in the fall. He's the only person that looks like he gives a shite.

Good work man. You could do it with every game and get no telling how many shots because we're so shite.
Unfortunately it all puts a clear picture as to just how poor we are in positioning.

Good stuff. I've been saying for years. I really feel like 2012 was the apex of this but I remember seeing Djourou make these same mistakes off goal kicks in 2011.
I also think that a consistent and cogent system would earn this team 3-5 more wins a season. We usually average around 20 wins because the league is so poor, but even when we were building the stadium, a cogent system would have probably nicked us a trophy or two.

Once again I will repeat break the bank for Mbappe he's going to be a special talent.

And bring Jardim over here with him

If we could maybe let Bould actually teach the defense, that might be a start. But Wenger is this crazy dictator who isn't able to see how to fix his flaws. Even dictators have underlings.
I've been saying this for so long that I don't know what else to do. I barely have any interest in games because watching us off the ball pisses me off so much.

Arsenal have offered Alexis Sanchez a new contract worth £300k-a-week to make him the highest paid player in PL history. [@JamesOlley] #af.

Sign da ting
I would do almost anything to keep Alexis. Quality, right attitude, can get you something even on his bad days.
Anyone want to start a Kickstarter to buy Atom and Humber lifetime supplies of dog treats?

Even the announcers said he was a vocal leader in the locker room as a player. But not sure how vocal he is with Wenger in charge.
