I think shoehorning Wilshere into the side is responsible for a lot of our problems

I'm pleased about the fight back, and in that way, getting destroyed so many times last year against good teams was a good thing, as we regained our composure and played much better in the 2nd half. We still get way too stretched on the break, and a good DM would do wonders for this team.

I really hate this 4-3-3, and I hope we switch back to the 4-2-3-1 when Ozil is finally fit. He's wasted on the left.

Explain what you mean? I think the bigger problem is trying to play a midfield three with a DM behind Ramsey and Wilshere. We don't have a DM on the team that can actually do that.

This is the problem I have, it could have been repeat of last year all over again and will be if we play this against Chelsea. Wenger is just stubborn. I had no problem with the squad, mostly the tactics. Early on we need Ramsey staying deep, wilshere on the rt, ox on the left and ozil behind Sanchez. Ozil didn't get enough of the ball. We need cover on d till the game settles. Then we can push up towards the end and nick goals. Instead everton are basically countering against chambers flamini and per. We will get annihilated against the better teams.

Also with ozil playing behind Sanchez he can be the one coming back and picking up the ball allowing other players to make runs instead of him making the runs.

I know we haven't put our best squad out, but history tells me we never will and as soon as Theo, arteta, Gibbs, kos get back someone else goes down. We see it every year.

Wenger speaking about Giroud:

Speaking to Sky afterwards, the Arsenal manager said, “It’s a stretched ankle… at the moment it doesn’t look too good.”

We need a DM so badly it's not even funny.

Wait, when did Giroud get injured?

Probably at the end where Distin kicked the ball into him.

Oh yes. That slipped my mind. It looked innocent enough; I can't imagine that resulted in something serious. :fingerscrossed:

He seemed to be hobbling pretty badly afterwards. Hopefully it isn't any ligament damage.

Bingo.

May this be the death knell of the 4-3-3

Our linkup play was so much better today, even with Ozil on the left. Not sure wtf Wenger was thinking there

Two guys who've been struggling, Santi and Giroud, earned us a point. Good on them. Especially Giroud. He's been under fire, and deservedly so, but he stepped up.

Callum is so talented. Once he learns how to play the position, he could be world class.

We must upgrade Flamini. A DM buy is vital. CB depth too.

Debuchy is so far a downgrade to Sagna. Not only in positioning, but in the attack. His crosses have no whip.

I hear we're selling Podolski, and I think it's a mistake. We will need his boost at some point. I guess he's overpaid, but whatever. Champions overpay.

Damn. Injuries happen, but it just seems like our players are a bunch of Ming vases.

Guys who get highlights in their hair in 2014 are the kind of guys with weak ankles.

Still can't believe we pulled that point out. Was good to see after how the game started.

If not for a missed offside we win.

I'll take the point.

Or Lukaku's foul on Per that started that entire sequence.

I think it's funny that y'all assume you get two goals if Everton doesn't get the second goal. How do you know they don't push harder and get a second goal?

Yea that's a logical fallacy sports fans make all the time. Every play that happened after that second goal was influenced by the fact that Everton went up 2-0. That being said it was still a terrible call and that makes two games in a row a terrible major call has gone against us.

Just watched a full replay of the game, I really don't think we played that poorly. Certainly not as badly as we looked last year when lost 3-0. In fact I think a draw was a pretty fair result. Both teams had three good chances and took two of them. Howard actually made a couple of decent saves, Szczesny didn't make any. Everton looked "dangerous" but it's not like they were peppering the goal and hitting a bunch of posts. We had more shots and more possession.

Considering our away form against good teams last year and how obviously discombobulated we still are I think itwas a decent performance overall
