A good look at Santi's play from deeper this year and why he might be our best option just in front of Le Coq.

LINK

quote:

Instead, Cazorla has offered something the side just didn’t have. Wenger, two weeks ago, praised the Spaniard’s recent transformation into the purest of central midfielders.

“For us, it was quite positive,” the Arsenal manager said. “He looked to find a new role and he is a team player, he works hard, has a good balance between attacking and defender. He is a better defender than people think he is. He loves to do the job for the team.”

That is actually putting it mildly. If Cazorla’s nine games in central midfield are enough to go by, he balances all the main demands of the position far better than basically any of the rest at Wenger’s disposal.

Also, Jack set for the bench this weekend. Will be good to see him play alongside Coq, who he has lots of experience playing with.

I was listening to @YankeeGunner on a podcast and I thought he brought up another good point about Santi playing deep.

Not only does it allow Mesut play in the middle, it allows us to fit in a winger that is honestly a better fit on the wing than either of them.

It is going to be super interesting where Wegner tries to fit everyone in the side with Wilshere being back now.

For me you have to keep starting Santi in the middle. He has been too good there to drop. Figure out how to put Ramsey in there, or Wilshire, or Coq, or whoever deserves to be there with Ozil and Santi, and put Sanchez and Theo out wide. Score goals. Win games. Jizz in your pants. It's a pretty simple formula if you ask me.

Ozil and Cazorla have been on fire. If Theo puts on his scoring boots(switched to adidas this week)we will steamroll some teams. You going today?

Nervy game, but what a great set of results today

That game was tough to watch. We have had way too many of those this year. I still think we play below our talent.

The last 3 halves Arsenal have definitely been playing well below their talent. Pretty nervy and shaky out there. We have been getting lucky that the sides we have faced aren't any better at finishing. But hey, I will take the results now up to 3rd.

Ehhh it's a game if fine margins. If Ozil or Sanchez score on their chances early in the second half the game is 3-0 and it's over.

Ok Saturdays and Sundays I wake up at 5am (same time during the week for work) and I've gotten into soccer. I've decided to adopt Arsenal as my favorite team, but is there an app so I can watch particular teams rather than what NBC shows?
